He's a close friend of Wilbon. He's been supportive of Wilbon commit to Texas and he was very happy with John his decision

Jefferson is an assistant coach at Wilbon's high school (Destrehan)

He is looking to make the jump to college, making connections

OG Zach Shackelford, Belton (6'3,290)

Played right tackle for Belton but will likely move to guard or center. Physical mauler who plays through the whistle and will mix it up with defenders. Versatile athlete for a big man. Throws the shot put on the track squad.

STRENGTHS: Massive kid with excellent feet and agility. Run game mauler, comes off the ball with excellent first step and pad level and plows through defenders. Plays through the whistle with a pissed off frame of mind. Shows excellent knee bend and flexibility in the ankles, works easily in and out of his stance. Effortlessly works up to second level defenders in the run game.

AREA TO IMPROVE: Can improve on his pass blocking. Solid hip pop and explosion, not great

----------

ps -- also if you watch his film, he went up against a couple big names in the state and more than held his own.  Even dominated them at times

I looked at a few LSU boards it sounds like if LSU wants Giles he is pretty much a lock to them. Apparently they are supposed to get another DT commit soon from some 5 star.

This is 247LSU guy Shea Dixon addressing DCG --

"While touching on defensive tackles in the 2016 class, it’s worth noting that St. Augustine’s D’Andre Christmas-Giles came in with his family this weekend for his official visit.  And honestly, there’s a ton of buzz out there that he’s a lock and he won’t end up anywhere else, but I think that’s way too early to call right now.  If you remember, it was Frank that offered him in December.  Now that Frank is gone, Orgeron is taking over his recruitment, and I’m just not so sure how high up on the board he is at the moment given they are trying to close with Lawrence next Friday and still court some other DT’s.  What I’m getting at: I don’t expect him to commit to LSU today.  And I’m not ready to say he’s a lock to do so later in the process.  Lets see how Orgeron and the staff handle things with him moving forward, but I’m backing away from calling him a "sure thing†in this class.  As I’ve noted before, he really likes Texas and a handful of other schools, and he visits South Carolina next weekend. I see this being a situation we monitor closer to NSD."

I sure was hoping we would come away from this weekend with more than one commitment. I know they are saying some are silent, but silent doesn't mean to much IMO

That's one to monitor

And I also did read that Obi came back from his Stanford trip and apparently he didn't flip

Thanks for the response, TeamMayHall ... I don't use my phone to access the www unless I am traveling and have to do so to get information I really need.  I was on my workstation at home ... some of the twitter links on this thread were working ... others were not.  It was not worth the effort for me to spend any time on it.  I am really only interested in the bottom line, and that will become evident when these discussions become news.

More on DCG --

Holland says he talked to Shea Dixon (see above) and Christmas-Giles has canceled his OV to USCe.

The LSU visit went well.

The teams left in the fight are --Texas, LSU, TCU, Ole Miss and aggy

----------

Holland also thinks we are the team to beat for Taylor (but he visits FSU next weekend)

Taylor quote -- "Man all I could say is it was the best trip I had so far and Texas has gained a lot more of my trust."

-----------

Holland on Daniels --

-- Loved the visit, especially getting to hang former teammate Vahe who was a good recruiter.  Daniels now feels like he would be truly welcomed at Texas and is over the late off thing.

-- Daniels mentioned the Fenves talk was important (re: stability)

-- Daniels says Texas is now a major player in his recruitment, but also says he is till committed to ou.

But note - after saying that about ou, Holland turned around and CBd Daniels to Texas tonight (Hummer did too)

I don't like the news that Shark is going to visit aggy on the last weekend on his dime. If he had a made a decision already he would not being doing this. This thing is far from over.
