News on Stephon Taylor from Football Brainiacs

"Taylor has already (unofficially) visited Texas and has a strong relationship with coach Haley.  I came across some excellent news for the Longhorn faithful yesterday. I spoke to a source close to Taylor last night and was told that Taylor will take an official visit to Texas in January. He also has a trip planned to South Carolina. I was also told in no uncertain terms that Texas is his current leader."

Wow so this thing is looking like last year again and I'm excited, the fact is that our secondary is probably already the best in the big 12 and adding jones and cuffee to it would be pretty nice, If we can get mark Jackson and Elliot too then things get real interesting. The thing I like the most is that you know (unlike with Mack) that all of these guys that Charlie is recruiting won't be bust, these are all quality players as Texas' player evaluation process is one of the best in the country, give Charlie this class and he will take us to the promised land. We are very close guys, we can be a ten win team next season

Agree.  Jones is the #1 overall in nation at safety

And we are still looking at several other safeties -- Deontay Anderson, DeMarkus Acy and Chris Brown.

Anderson would be a tough pull fro Ol Miss but alot of folks out there love Acy's game.  And we seem to be Chris Brown's fav too.  Brown played at same HS as DJax and could be part of the "package" of Houston-area recruits.

However it works, it seems Strong has a clear idea of the players needed for the type of defense he wants to defeat the offenses of this conference.

One of 247's national guys - Ryan Bartow -- was supposed to speak to Delance last night

He CBd Delance to Texas back in mid-Oct

So was waiting to see if he was going to flip it to Mich today.  So far he has not

There has been some talk of beefing up Hall 15 pounds and spinning him down to LB

He is currently listed as the same size as Anthony Wheeler (6'2,209)

He is a pretty good tackler, moves well.  And doesnt it seem like he is always looking for the chance to knock the holy crap out of someone?

Steve Lorenz  -- ".... Talked to a source close to his recruitment on Tuesday morning that informed me Delance gave some very strong indications that he plans to choose the Wolverines during the Under Armour All-American game on Sunday.

As Steve Wiltfong and others have reported recently, Texas appears to be on the outside looking in with LSU and Michigan the two programs both of those programs believe he may be favoring. While there may be a pull to keep Delance closer to home by his family, we're told that his personal desire is to play for Tim Drevno, Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines....."

They then go on to talk about how the mom may still have the final word (she is going to the UA Game and will discuss is all with him then)

OK, so this is better, even though Steve Wilfong was quoted by Lorez (Mich guy), Wilfong subsequently walked it back --

"..... Wolverine247 insider Steve Lorenz made a 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast in favor of Michigan on Tuesday morning for Top100 offensive tackle Jean Delance. I’m not there yet but I could easily see it as I’ve been reporting that since his December visit Michigan was at worst in the top two. I still think a couple things need to be ironed out before he’s a Wolverine."
