JUCO DT Handsome Tanielu saying he will probably stick with his original plan of BYU

As an EE, he would hardly any time to visit

He is supposed to be announcing at the UA Game -- "When my mom arrives in Florida I'll talk it over with her one more time before I make it.  I'll base my decision on playing time, the degree you can get, how the coach is close to my family especially my mom and grandma. And how the position coach has recruited me."

He has already OVd to LSU and Michigan.  He hasnt set any other OVs -- says he hasnt decided if will take any more.

So he's leaving LSU behind, stepping on UT but has his hand out to Michigan. I guess he will choose M

Juan, first of all thank you getting this thread back on track. Do we stand a realistic chance of getting Quartney Davis?
"...... Davis doesn’t have an offer from Texas right now, but said if one comes he will very likely officially visit Texas before NSD.  The question will be whether Texas has room for Davis. Texas already has three 2016 WR commits and it seems Texas is in very good shape for 2016 ATH Lil’Jordan Humphrey who I expect to play on offense if he ends up at Texas.

Most have Oklahoma State trending with Davis, but he told me he might not even take an official visit to Stillwater.  The only official visit he has set is to Oklahoma on January 23rd. Davis said another school showing a lot of interest and a school he may visit is Clemson.  This could be one to keep an eye on, if Texas extends an offer. ..."

ps1 -- 247 shows OV's set with OkieLite on Jan 15, and UCLA on Jan 22.  Conveniently leaving Jan 29 for us ......
ps2 -- Chris Vaughn did start to follow him on the twitter

Here is what Andrew King says about our perilous DT recruiting --

"..... If Texas lands guys like Brandon Jones, Jeffery McCulloch, Dontavious Jackson, and Eric Cuffee on defense. DT recruiting will take care of itself IMO."

So he's leaving LSU behind, stepping on UT but has his hand out to Michigan. I guess he will choose M

Here are his quotes from 247 --

LSU: "Coach (Les) Miles is down-to-earth. He's a nice guy. So is the Offensive Line coach (Jeff Grimes). They need depth on the offensive line. They have some great running backs and wide receivers. They return a lot. It's a phenomenal choice. Why not? It's the best time to go. They are going to compete for a National Championship and I'll get to compete for a spot and playing time. Go play big-time SEC ball."

Michigan: "The best part of the visit was definitely coach (Jim) Harbaugh. He's going to have the best recruiting class they've had in a while. They had a 9-3 season and are bowl eligible. They are going to be good the next four or five years. They have some great people there. I loved it up there. I took in a lot there. I loved watching them practice. It's so much different than a high school practice. They go hard every rep. They lose a lot of upperclassmen. They have some good commits coming in and then need me to help them. Coach Harbaugh gave me a great message. He said if I come there he won't messed it up for me. He said all my dreams will come true. He said I can get a top-notch degree and Michigan is the place to be."

Texas: "I couldn't leave out my home state. I believe in them. They tell me they will be back on top soon. It's not too far away from home. They tell me why do I need to go way across the country to play? They play a lot of true freshmen. The numbers don't lie."

ps --Higdon remains consistently optimistic about landing Delance

Holland thinks Texas still "has the slight edge."  We also have the mom and aunt wanting him to stay close, and both ladies like Charlie.
"Still, LSU and Michigan are making big runs down the stretch."

He will OV to Cal with his last visit.  Holland says Cal is legit threat on this one.

Probably wont announce until NSD (but the date not set in stone)

The CBs show him to Texas, but there are only two votes

So Jones and Cuffee are gonna bulk up to 330 and stuff the middle.  Awesomeness.

I am one of those hung up on 5 stars.  Yes there are 5 stars that go bust (Murray) and 2-3 stars that turn into All Americans (Williams).  There are also 5 stars that turn into All Americans.  Malik Jefferson.

Its shallow, I know, but I am the guy that wants to see Elliot and Oliver sign with Texas instead of some 2-3 star JUCO DT that no one has heard of.
I'm all for signing 5 stars and want to see us in the mix for all of them.  There are diamonds in the rough, though, and I think that it's encouraging and worth noting that our coaching staff has the ability to recognize them.

Per Chip:

... Dalton Santos has put on a bunch of weight thanks to his broken ankle. If he wants to continue playing football that weight might be the best thing for him as a possible center candidate (Dan Neil's idea, and it's growing on me).

... Hearing Adrian Colbert is considering a graduate transfer. It's not final, but being considered.

Some chatter that McCulloch will decide tonight whether he will announce at the UA Game or NSD

The source is aggy (via Holland) and they apparently think their chances ares fading with McCulloch
