Hey fellas, DieHard UT fan here and HUGE Charlie Strong fan, I am currently in College and I aspire to be a Division one football coach someday so this stuff fascinates me. I think the addition of Gilbert to our staff will pay huge dividends on the recruiting trail and on the field , if our offense was even a little more competent as they were this past season we are looking at 8 wins. I think that this class will be crucial to Strong's tenure here and if we can even match(or surpass) our class from this previous year, then we will be really really good. Im glad i found this website and i should be pretty active

Welcome aboard.

Said in-home went great, and he thinks be great fit under Gilbert.

No offer extended, but he thinks one could be soon. They are due to talk again tomorrow.

He is an EE so will be a quick decision.

Riley Ferguson's HUDL for anyone who would like to view it.

Obviously you can have a discussion about the level of competition. But the kid would be starting for Tennessee had he stayed. It would be difficult to say that he won't come in and take the job immediately from Heard and Swoopes.

One of 247's national writers -- Steve Wiltfong -- now thinks Michigan and LSU lead for Delance

Currently set announce Jan 2

Delance is supposed to announce at the UA game on Jan 2
FWIW: I still think he commits to Texas. Then again, I'm not a national writer.

Well, damn.

My ad blocker won't let me watch HUDL links. Does anybody know how to correct this problem?

Apparently TCU is also in it with Christmas-Giles (per IT)

Higs thinks our visitor weekend of Jan 16 "will be the biggest OV Texas has seen in 4 years"

He also is saying we have a shot at a top 5 class, depending how that weekend goes

Glad he is confident. I tell you, a lot can change in 1 month in regards to recruiting. Hope things work out.

It's literaly only 1 month away so hopefully we can get these kids to commit to the good guys.

Mattox putting in work right now
Per TexasSports.com --

"Prior to Coffeyville, Mattox was the offensive line/tight ends coach at Butler (Kansas) Community College. During five seasons with the school from 2007-11, he helped coach the program to four conference and NJCAA Region VI Championships. In his tenure, he coached 31 all-conference offensive linemen and six junior college All-Americans."

Seems like alot

As long as we have the top class in the state I'll be happy, I like how Charlie just goes in and plucks guys from Florida and Louisiana, he had a quote after the season that I just fell in love with I believe it was along the lines of "There are still guys out there that we can go get and we need to get them , even if a guy is committed you can't be afraid to go recruit them" I think that the excitement with Gilbert along with strongs persistence and Vaughn and BJM killing it with these in home visits we should be fine

Ps. I think Bedford is a solid coach and his players really love him but he needs to be a better recruiter as well

Higs dropped some major "bread crumbs" on TBL this morning.

He also hinted on some staff changes to come that will have a positive impact on recruiting as well

Oh you gotta give us the scoop on the staff changes, I actually heard Houston Nutt mentioned for RB coach the other day, I wouldn't be opposed to that, he's a power spread guy as well
