I think LJH announcing a couple of days before NSD is strategically planned out. He is going to be the first huge domino to get the final push for momentum going into NSD.

All speculation of course.

"DT Mike Williams will not be able to visit this weekend it appears...something with his family came up so he will reschedule for the last OV weekend.....Some of the guys coming in this weekend as I have talked about will be guys like Chris Brown, Kyle Porter and Obi Eboh....Again, like last week you will see some other players in Austin this weekend."

I dont think so. Players like Brandon Jones know that any team will bend over backwards for them. I think its a better statement saying that brown knows slots are filling up fast.

As they say you better get on the train and grab a seat before they all fill up.

I can guarantee that Brandon Jones wants Texas to sign as many great players as possible. Great players= Great team. He only cares about winning. He is one of the most gifted athletes I've ever seen but his work ethic is unparalleled. His focus will be on being the very best HE can be not being better than someone else. I am partial but the kid is special

SEC 247 guy JC Shuburtt did a good post about DT Stephon Taylor --

He likes LSU but they havent pursued him hard.   Even so, he likes Ogeron, so if they made a late push for him it would get his attention.

Taylor has only lived in New Orleans for 5 years.   He was originally from a city in Alabama near Auburn.  When Muschamp, Robinson and Thompson left for South Carolina, that got his attention.  Right now he has an OV scheduled for there the last weekend (Jan 29).  Aggy is trying to get him to OV there instead.  He sees FSU this coming weekend.

Now here is his quote about us --

"Taylor is coming off an unofficial visit to Texas and I am told he and his family like it in Austin. Longhorns defensive line coach Brick Haley, formerly of LSU, is leading the way with his recruitment. I do think Texas is a serious factor here.  

As for what will ultimately happen here, the contact said Taylor's family will be a big part in his decision-making process.  Depending on what LSU does, the team South Carolina has to top right now is Texas, so it's important for Taylor to have a great official visit and to have not made up his mind prior to coming to Columbia on the last official visit weekend of the cycle.  Obviously, the Gamecocks staff has a previously-existing relationship here and that does help."

Wickline sounds like a real charmer. Sales rule number one is don't insult the customer. Don't know why but customers don't seem to like that and will buy from someone else that doesn't insult them.

Jones is the #1 safety in the country.

I dont know about Brown but he and Anderson have talked about playing together in the UT defense.

Yeah, he is from a different era.   He may be a good or even great coach but that kind of stuff just will not fly in today's recruiting world.
