IMO, this kid is legit.  I saw him play twice last year and he was the best player on the field in both games, by a long shot.  His strength and push is just amazing...  throws people around like they are toothpicks...

From what I've seen and heard.

1-TE Will Gragg absolutely loved his visit to Texas. Gragg is saying he's nowhere near making a decision, but has Texas in the mix. Gragg is set to visit several schools, so this will most likely play out for a while.

2-PJ Mbanasor is still waiting for an offer from Texas, but has yet to receive one.

3-Patrick Vahe says he's 110 percent committed to Texas. Vahe and his parents may be visiting for the Spring game.

4-PJ Locke was apparently told to call Coach Bedford this afternoon. Maybe that means an offer is coming.

6-Jalen Campbell was offered by TCU this weekend. Will be interesting to see how this plays out, because Texas is reevaluating him. It's a total guess, but I think Campbell probably ends up going somewhere else. So many DB's in the state of Texas......

Have you heard anything regarding John Humphrey (League City, TX)? Has he still not received an offer?

We also apparently offered JUCO DE Takkarist McKinley (6'3, 250)

Originally committed to Cal, class of 2013.

Takkarist McKinley is a 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end who was very excited upon learning about his latest offer from the Texas Longhorns.

â€My excitement level one out of ten is for sure a ten,†Takkarist McKinley said. “Great school, great history, great academics and good old fashioned great football! I know it’s a blessing to have an offer from Texas and they have an amazing staff.â€

McKinley is not sure when he will visit Texas but said he will speak with head coach Charlie Strong later today to set that trip up

Texas still hasn't offered from what I've heard. Kid is blazing fast, easily one of the fastest in the state. From what I've heard he's very raw. Right now he's just an athlete, but really hasn't learned how to play WR. Granted, that could develop down the line. I don't think Texas will offer him since there are so many receivers Texas is after like Newsome, Burt, and Siverand. He's fairly small too, don't really see a distinction between Newsome and Humphrey. Texas won't take both Newsome and Humphrey because they are so similar.

We have also now offered 5* QB Drew Lock Lee's Summit, MO

He's a bball player worthy of offer too.

edit - heavy MO-lean. Expected to commit to them shortly.  Parents and even a grandparent went there.

I know man, his highlights are pretty exciting to watch. I can understand them not offering, but damn It'd be hard to pass him up. Can't coach that kind of speed.

Totally agree.  He is a beast.

So, 3 offers today -- Davis, McKinley and Lock.

All of ouf state.

Quite a change from the way Brown did things.

"Jefferson was forthcoming about where A&M sat with him recently."

"They are still on my list of course," he said. "Honestly I can say that they were my leading school, but there is no more leading school because something hit me one day and I realized that I needed to take a step back and evaluate everybody else."

"The new Texas staff was able to get Jefferson on campus recently for a spring practice and he came away impressed with what he saw."

"I loved it," he said of practice. "It was really intense and you're looking for intensity and you know that those kids can be really good this year. I just looked at it as, 'Can you develop there?' And I can see myself developing at Texas."

"There were some notable changes to practice under new head coach Charlie Strong compared with the previous regime. Jefferson was stark in his assessment."

"Harder hitting. More intense. Better coaching."

"All of that stems from Strong. He brings a strong sense of 'I'm the boss' and 'Listen to me.' I like that because he knows what he's talking about 100 percent of the time."

"Now on a third defensive coordinator in a matter of months, the new Texas staff is seeking to build a relationship with Jefferson, the foundation upon which his recruitment by the Longhorns will be built. Jefferson sees the potential to do so."

"You can establish a relationship with anyone and build it up to be strong. It's not hard because coach Bedford and coach Jean-Mary are good coaches."

Here is ESPN on 2015 class and Strong --

2015s liking the path Charlie Strong's going.

Charlie Strong asked for a couple months to let the dust settle and establish himself. That’s all he needed to get his point across as the new head coach at Texas.

Since taking over as the new head coach at Texas, Strong has visited multiple school campuses throughout the state, hosted junior day events and used countless cellphone minutes to connect with players, coaches and parents. Gone, for now, is the perception that the job of replacing Mack Brown -- an iconic figure in college football -- is too difficult for Strong.

The reality – Strong’s directness, his X’s and O’s knowledge and win-now attitude – is settling in with Class of 2015 recruits.

Strong is now the face of what many believe is the new Texas. The transformation took roughly 90 days.

“They’re all about business over there,†Longhorns cornerback commitJalen Campbell said. “It’s especially what Texas needed.†Recruits say Strong is a fan of presentation. He’s someone who gets his points across with various visual aids, whether they involve material on a whiteboard or videos of team workouts that have gone viral.

247 has taken Jalen Campbell off the commit list on their site.

"Texas offer for LA WR Derrick Dillon is pretty much a no-brainer to me.
Was pretty close to unstoppable in 1v1s at the #HOUNFTC."
