2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Doesn't necessarily belong in the recruiting thread, but related to Wittek, I have heard conflicting reports about Tyrone Swoopes. Has Swoopes moved to TE or did he throw 2 TDs at the last practice?

I am not privy to inside recruiting scoop, but please keep it coming. It is getting exciting on the 40 these days, as it should be. As a student at Texas, I felt privileged. Even now, when high school students find out where I went to school, they immediately react with respect.

Regardless of what others may say, The University of Texas commands respect. They don't have to like it, but they had better get used to it. In the words of a former employer, "The University of Texas, that's a real school." Ironically, he didn't even live in Texas.

I've already found my favorite player in this class, Charles Omenihu. Holton Hill was tweeting about visiting Austin this weekend, and Aggy commit Jay Bradford had to chime in with his Aggy nonsense. Omenihu's response, "We play defense at Texas".
I don't just like this post, I love it.

Hook 'em!

Wow, Derrick Dillon is apparently visiting next weekend. He's a 4 star athlete/QB/cornerback. I was hoping we would offer this guy. One of my favorite players in the country. Kid is the truth, insane athlete that makes plays. This will be my favorite player in the class if we get him. Huge.

LOL! Incredibly, there are quite a few anti-Swoopes Texas fans - in all of the blog sites. (Particularly Inside Texas). I think, however, a lot of it is backlash at me because I constantly challenge the haters to deliver proof of how bad he is. Which, of course, they cannot.

Most of the Swoopes bashers want to compare the kid against senior QB's. and use the differences in their arguments against him.

I suspect that Sumlin would love to have him as I think he could develop him into a beast at QB. I know Briles would love him and if he had him Swoopes would certainly come back and bite us in the butt.

My proof of how bad he is points to his high school stats in a small school division(2A), most noticably senior year. I don't think he'll ever pan out, but if he does it is a true testament to the OC/QB developer. Here is a video of Dillon making a crazy TD run:

. Also to add other pertinent recruiting info, 2015 WR Jaelan Guyton of Allen committed to Notre Dame this weekend along with S Prentice Mckinney (2015) of Dallas South Oak Cliff and 2016 OL Patrick Hudson of Silsbee committed to Texas A&M on Friday.

It would be a crime to put Dillon on defense. That kid is electric with the ball in his hands.

Not saying Dillon is Vince Young, but he reminds me of him with the ball in his hands. I really think he's going to end up being a receiver or cornerback though. I think he has the ingredients to be a special receiver.

QB Jake Browning (Folsom, CA) committed to UDub.

Seems like a good one.

Was on our list.

FYI Tristian Houston has said he would commit if Texas offered. I think Texas is higher on Stevenson, Johnson and Warren. If Texas ends up taking Johnson as a safety I think they will offer Houston.

I don't have access to 247, but this was a caption posted on the article about Malik Jefferson, "Malik Jefferson says he has no top school now but had good things to say about Baylor, Texas and Texas A&M"

Like I said Jefferson's recruitment will come down to who has the best year in Texas. Baylor, Texas or A&M will get him based on the success of next year.
