2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

It's possible Strong is planning to hire a coach who isn't out of contract until after NSD.
I'm thinking it's probably a coach who is good in recruiting and he wanted to stay till after NSD. I'm thinking someone like Shane Beamer. Former special teams coach and recruiter coordinator for South Carolina and now works for his father. His name was mentioned as a possible TE coach.  It would make sense that he wouldn't want to take the job until after NSD, so it wouldn't disrupt Virginia Tech's recruiting.

In a perfect world, where we land both Murray and Jamabo. Who do you let wear No. 1?

that is a mess of whats going on with Chicago Bears right now...
Huh? They just hired the most experienced and successful candidate available for head coach. A top 3 defensive Coordinator in Vic Fangio and the guy who (with Peyton Manning) orchestrated the most successful offense in the NFL the last three years in Adam Gase as Offensive Coordinator.

These moves were all preceded by the hiring of Ryan Pace - one of the youngest and brightest minds in the NFL.

Bears might have been a mess 30 days ago. But not anymore.

I know Vic Fangio..really a good guy

The QB. Always the QB.

That said - I'm really hoping that Murray was giving this next group a chance to take their visits (Mack & Soso) before announcing his intentions. If this drags out longer than Thursday's in home with Sumlin - I can't see it still happening.

El Mahico seems to have lost some street cred

Nonetheless and FWIW -- he says "SoSo is Strong's guy" and Charlie wants him.  Charlie made a detailed pitch to him and made it clear he is a the guy

Also, Lodge comes if Murray does. If no Murray, then no Lodge.  But we did make up a ton of ground with Lodge and showed him where & how he would fit

Also, Strong spent a liot of time with Wickline, Norvell & Watson studying tOSU's offense (their last 4 games).  So, if you are looking for a model for the O, this might be it.  Spread the field out but have a physical run game that will wear a team out.  Some of the offensive recruits like it alot

Now, Hipho-step back from the ledge.

This could go to signing day.  It doesn't matter what we know right now, only what happens on 2/4/2015.

At any rate, I simply must be productive this afternoon - obligations, unfortunately.  Hope to check back from time to time.  Please keep everyone updated.

Juan, it wouldn't surprise me, at all, if our coaches spent some time with tOSU coaches this summer, given the relationship between Meyer and Strong.  Whether it is publicized or not, is another question entirely.  Strong is highly intelligent, no doubt about it, and I believe he continually re-evaluates.  He may get it wrong at times, but he is not afraid to correct it quickly and move on.  It's also obvious that he has the respect of other coaches and shares close relationships, built on mutual respect and trust, with those with whom he has worked.  I really admire him.

Meyer and Strong built a monster at Florida.  If Meyer had a problem on defense, I would imagine that Strong would be his first call.

Hook 'em, Charlie!

Juan, WTH are you doing with the Bigfoot stuff? I'm sure Mack's mom would not appreciate it. I suggest you show those to him in person so he can show you what he thinks of them as well. SMH

That is a scenario that has played through my head since we first started to hear about the change in offense from some of the recruits. It makes sense.

Had someone tell me he is reading that talk from Boyd's home town is he is leaning aggie. Anyone else hear anything like that

Haven't read the crystal balls on this one but I read that most still think he becomes a Horn.

With his personality, it does not shock me. I want him here, but I have to wonder if he could survive Strong's more stringent rules.
