The Wheeler commitment should not hurt our attempts to land his high school teammate WR Carlos Strickland

I've been told we have a silent commitment at WR in Gilbert Johnson. Johnson is a slightly larger version of Strickland. I'm starting to not see it with Strickland or perhaps staff is taking first to come.

Johnson is the real deal. Very excited about him.

juan i hate to be a broken record but i'm putting money on Locksley lol

We are certainly filling in the positions of need on defense.  Strong and Bedford know what they want and go get it.  The replacements at LB are pretty stunning.  A few weeks ago, I felt Wheeler would be a nice backup plan if we missed out on Malik.  Now we have both of them.  Wow.

I wish the offense could say the same, but the weaknesses at QB and OL are going to retard the overall development of the team as a whole for some time.

Locksley is a great talent, no doubt.

But I have felt all along what we really need is a JUCO or transfer.  Apparently we do have some lines out to some of these guys -- even quite a few of them.  I listed the two JUCOs we are looking at some posts back.  But IMO the guys we need to huddle and pray for are both potential transfers -- either Braxton Miller or Everett Golson.   This is if we want to be competitive in 2015.

Given the limited number of seats at the table right now. My guess is that CS is starting to back off some recruits and getting to the point where he will start telling some there is or room at the inn.

There is now way I ever would have imagined Texas would be in this position.

I'm guessing top 5 before it's al said and done.

Mack is very much a follower IMO. A&M not picking up big names on defense will have an impact on Mack.

We are simpatico on that.  If I was told we could only take one, I would go Johnson too.  But he may be the type that the counselors will have to stay on top of his whole time in Austin.  We will see.

If there is room (and the good lord willing), let's take them both.  I like both, LOVE their height.  I see this (tall receivers) as a specific team need.
