2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Over on Aggy 24/7, there's a thread where they're talking about the Daylon Mack decommitment and that silly hashtag thing they have. They try to explain it away with a few lame excuses, but then they start bashing the kid.

Then, a poster named "Daylon's Dad" posts this:

"Wow! Kid is committed to you for over a year he gift wraps a top five recruiting class for the staff who can't tell him who his coach will be and you start to **** on his family. That's ****ing great"

Thread is now locked.

Question for the board – with MJ now in the fold, do we still go after Anthony Wheeler?

I think you do.  There are always transfers, injuries, grade issues.  He's a impact player where we lack depth.  Take em and the numbers will work themselves out.

I went over there briefly this evening, and saw that thread.  The discussions were bitter and immature.  I signed off.  Glad Daylon's Dad, or someone who claimed to be his dad, said something.  It's good that these guys are seeing this now, not next year when it is difficult to get out.  It is something that we have witnessed for years.

I feel for the highly ranked recruits they signed last year, suffering on that terrible defense.  It sounds as if the entire team is in disarray due to Sumlin's poor management.  The Ags are returning to form, and it happened quickly.

Hook 'em!

most excellent

McNeal is a great interview!  Personable, articulate, great body language.  He is a communicator.  After his football career is over, he could make millions in broadcasting, if he doesn't go into the Secret Service.  #Finessin #LuvIt

Hook 'em!

A poster on another site is saying that a certain newspaper (not Lubbock) is conducting a big investigative series on an athletic program to the north of Austin but south of the Metroplex. This investigation is not only about the football program, but the whole athletic department.

Start stocking up on popcorn.

Feel for the student athletes if there's anything to it but having said that it couldn't have happened to a more deserving head football coach.

Lastly, OB also says MJ and Sumlin had "an unpleasant exchange" Wed night about the DC situation.

This tidbit^^ was more or less confirmed by Hammybear later.

Taylor Hamm says that MJ's dad pulled him aside after the announcement and said aggy was leading the whole way but that the conversation with Summybear on Wednesday night did not go well at all. And Malik did not even speak with Sumlin Thursday Night. He said he didn't want to because he knew he wouldn't get the answers he wanted

More big news from Inside Texas. ATH Tim Irvin of Miami, FL has basically requested early enrollment paperwork from Texas. That doesn't mean it's a done deal, but it shows how serious of a player UT is right now. He plans on announcing his decision at the Army All-American Bowl.

For me, Irvin ranks and one of the next 2 or 3 must-haves.  He is a beast.

I have read that the rules limit us to 6 early entrees.  If so, we have already filled up that number with the 3 JUCOs, MJ + 2 OLs.  Thus, if so, Irvin would count against this years' numbers.  Anyone disagree with this?  Either way, we sign Irvin as soon as we are able -- get him enrolled and playing Spring Ball.  Having those 6 spots to use this year has worked out tremendously either way,

This film has lots of him on offense, showing speed, quickness, vision and hands.  But check out his hit on defense ~ 1:43 mark

And here is his HUDL film http://www.hudl.com/v/CsFK4
