2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Lol... can I file a freedom of information act¿... I guess that information was to much for our little minds....
Well, that's what they're charged with doing. Protecting our innocence. ha ha

Probably did me a favor in this case so I don't begrudge the edit.

Eric Nahlin is saying Malik has set up an official to Texas. Would be huge news if true. Malik also has an in home visit scheduled with the staff per Eric.

Was there ever really a doubt that he'd take an OV, or an in home visit? I just don't have the same level of optimism that this visit actually means something. Seems like even very committed recruits still take officials to other schools.

Visits are very important. The momentum for Malik to aggy all started after a supposed "good visit". Malik has planned to visit multiple schools for a long time, so nothing has really changed.

As for Malik, I don't think anyone has a clue what he's going to do (that includes the best recruiting insiders). Malik is too closed off and personal for anyone to have a clue. All we can do is speculate and guess. I will say this, Malik wouldn't be visiting Austin if there wasn't interest.

IMO there's no reason to assume Malik is gone anywhere when there are multiple in house visits and a couple OVs still on the table. Recruiting shifts and changes. If you told me we were going to land Vasser a couple weeks ago I would have laughed at you.......guess what the turning point was, a visit to Austin.

I think there has been some because it hasn't been set up until now.

I was given some negative news on this recruitment this morning. If what I heard comes to fruition, then Malik will be an ag. But at this point it has not. Nevertheless, there's that to feel uneasy about. We've been here before a few times with ag.

That said, the news that MJ will come to Austin is quite encouraging. There's a lot of truth to the old Horn saying "if we can just get him on campus." The Austin trip is indeed a impactful visit no matter who you are (save Albert Hardy of yesteryear). So if Charlie has his game face on - we're very much in the middle of this.

What bothers me some are the later January visits from prospects who are either new to us or have not been to Austin. I just feel that's a little late to be making this kind of decision on a place you've never seen before. IMO, it's a safety net in case things go awry between now and then. I hope I'm wrong but that's what it feels like.

I thought MJ visited unofficially a few weeks ago, when we had all the Florida kids here?

Their video http://watch.scout.com/chris-warren-spotlight -- worth a look -- has some good interview portions with him about his running style/strength

Malik Jefferson -- according to IT --

-Malik will take his official visit to UT this weekend, and likely the entire defensive staff (including Strong) will do an in-home on the 10th

-parents are still siding with UT

-Nahlin asked a lot of A&M related questions and Malik mentioned he believes he can change the perception of their defense and overall culture under Sumlin, but he "loves" UT and wanted that statement made public

-overall, the recruitment is still trending towards A&M but there may be reason to be a "tad" more optimistic

I found this part troubling, like he is already trying to let us down easy

I love everything I've seen from Chris Warren.  For me, this years recruiting class really comes down to whether or not we can get him.  I think that kid is perfect for Texas.  Nce to see him continuing to rise in the recruiting ranks.

His dad had nice NFL career.  Made PB 3 times with Seattle, had over 1,000 yards 4 times.  4.3 YPC career avg.  He could catch ball out of backfield too.

Some remarks from Mike Williams --

“They told me I can come out and say it.  I am offered. Coach Jean-Mary told me on twitter first then he reassured me today.†

“I was surprised.  That is a big time program even if they only win one game. This one has to be at the top for me.†

“Coach Strong changed everything.  He changed that program around.†

“I’ll make sure I commit (somewhere) before next August."
