2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Not saying it can't or won't happen. Just at this time I'm having a hard time seeing it.

One thing Texas has going for them is some of the Gilmer staff is pro Texas.

Luckily for me I'll see this cat in action in week 3, possible week 2 as well.

Okay, after watching video of the 4 2016 QB's that Texas offered yesterday (and mine is admittedly an untrained eye), it looks like the "worst" of the 4 is.......still very, very good.

Of course, now that I think about it, that's obviously why Charlie offered them. Duh!
In your opinion, who was the worst of the 4? And best?

The guys in the 2016 class are very good don't get me wrong. But Shawn Robinson in the 2017 class looks like a special player. Ran a 4.4 40 at Ohio State's camp, and he's built like a brick. Robinson plays at the same school as Heard so hopefully we have some connections. I remember watching his 8th grade film and saying this kid is going to be a top 10 player in the country when he's a senior

Really hope he doesn't go to tOSU.

Brossette a A&M or LSU lean?
Brossette will end up at Texas or LSU.

I'm actually starting to like our chances with Brossette. Brossette has to know touches are going to be limited with Fournette already on the roster and Guice in the 2015 class. Brossette wouldn't be getting big time touches until his junior year and might still be splitting those touches with the likes of Guice.

LSU is not a team I would look forward to playing in the near future. Fournette is the best RB I've seen come out of high school in some time. Guice is drastically underrated in this class.......IMO if not the best RB in the country top 3.

Texas offers Guyer quarterback Shawn Robinson

Guyer quarterback Shawn Robinson didn’t need to start a game at his new school to earn an offer from one of the biggest programs in the country.

Texas offered the Guyer sophomore on Tuesday afternoon. Horns Digest first reported the offer.

That’s right. Robinson is a sophomore.

Robinson started for Saginaw Chisholm Trail last season and came to Guyer when his mom, Andrea Robinson, left Cedar Hill to become the girls basketball coach at Guyer.

Last season, Robinson threw for 1,123 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also ran for 624 yards and six touchdowns.

Robinson went to the Longhorns’ “Under the Lights†camp earlier this summer and said the atmosphere and the coaching staff made a good impression on him. He also ran into the man he’s replacing at Guyer, former Wildcat quarterback and Texas freshman Jerrod Heard.

Heard talked to Robinson during Robinson’s stint at the “Under the Lights†camp and another one-day clinic. Robinson said Heard imparted words of wisdom on both visits.

“He told me about how much he loved Texas and everything was going great,†Robinson said. “He just told me to keep my head on straight, stay humble and don’t let this college recruiting mess with my head and mess with the real stuff because it’s all about the team [Guyer] right now.â€

Robinson was recruited by Texas assistant head coach Shawn Watson. Watson was the offensive coordinator at Louisville and left the program when Charlie Strong left the head coaching post at Louisville to take the same position at Texas.

Robinson said as of now, he wants to wait until the end of this season to orally commit to a university. He still has over two years before the Class of 2017 signing day rolls around.

Nebraska offered Robinson earlier this summer. Robinson has been attending camps all summer and he was impressive on his trip to Ohio State earlier this month.

Just heard @DentonGuyerFB sophomore QB Shawn Robinson (@Dshawn_12era) ran a 4.4 40 for Urban Meyer at Ohio State camp. Look out. #txhsfb
The feeling around Guyer and folks familiar with the recruiting business around the state believe Robinson will be one of the best quarterbacks in the country by the time he graduates in 2017.

If things go according to plan, Robinson will have his pick of where he wants to go to school.

Robinson is expected to be Guyer’s starting quarterback when the Wildcats open the season on Aug. 29.

Robinson and the Wildcats will face Allen, the two-time defending state champions, at Apogee Stadium. Allen will be led by quarterback Kyler Murray, who has orally committed to Texas A&M.

If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, you might want to go ahead and take care of that.

Agree about Guice. He looks pretty amazing in the film I saw. If someone is better than him, I'd like to see them.

Not a big camp guy. Doesn't go to all those national camps so that impacts his ranking.

That's also why I like him. Can't remember when but Guice pretty much said he doesn't go to those camps because he would rather be at home lifting weights and actually working out instead of playing grab ass.

RB Nick Brossette

— Twitter API (@twitterapi) November 7, 2011

Among his more recent twitter follows are John Burt, Shawn Watson, Earl Thomas, Kevin Durant and Tommie Robinson .....

The 6-foot, 209-pound Brossette is the No. 7 running back in the country and is No. 80 overall in the 247Sports Composite.

LSU commit Nick Brossette is known for his bruising running style between the tackles, but the four-star running back has shown that he has some nifty footwork and can also make people miss as he did with four-star linebacker and Tennessee commit Cecil Cherry in a drill at The Opening

So Kevin Shorter did qualify.
--  will be taking a medical redshirt, which does not count against the final roster numbers.
