2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Ryan Newsome will take his last OV to Austin this weekend. I like our chances now that Tommie Robinson isn't going anywhere (Newsome considers him like a father).

Vasser (6-4, 270) is a strongside DE.  He is originally from New York but played at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia. At Hargrave, he played with 2 current Georgia DLs -- which is part of the draw there.  He had an offer to attend Syracuse out of Hargrave, but didn’t make the SAT.

He is finishing up at Navarro JC (Corsicana).  Last season, Vasser had 26 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 12 games.

He will have three years to play two.

Fill me in- where does Vasser play JC ball? Is he a Florida guy?

My son knows him down at Navarro. I've seen him play this season. Spent most of the season wondering why we weren't on him. Turns out, we were.

Nice size, plays the run very well and when he can pin his ears back, he is dominating off the edge. Good kid, stays out of trouble for the most part. Not easy to accomplish at Navarro.

Thanks for the update, good to see he is already in the state at Navarro. Already acclimated to Texas and Austin must look good compared to Navarro. No offense to the town of Navarro (assuming that is what the town is where Navarro is located...Mark?)

Corsicana. Yes, it's a small, rough town with little to do. Austin would compare highly, highly favorably. lol

There is a ton of talent at Navarro, but IMO, I always thought Vasser was the best prospect on the team.

And, I dont know it it's still true, but the girls from there used to have their very own distinct accent.

Corsicana, not Navarro

I grew up about 30 minutes from Corsicana. They actually had a real indoor movie theater. I also remember a restaurant at the edge of town that actually had tablecloths.

It was big time for me.
