He is a very well spoken young man. Good interview.

Hope he gets here as early as possible next year because our heat will take some acclimation. I moved to Albuquerque one August from Austin, and everyone there was complaining about the heat. It was all I could do to keep from laughing. I don't believe Albuquerque ever broke 90 that summer, and Austin hadn't been below 100 in weeks. The humidity there is much lower, too. He will initially have a lot of energy, though. He is coming from elevation of a mile, lots of stamina.

When I moved back to Texas, I moved in January. Wised up!

An athlete with his physical conditioning should adjust quickly. Seems like a great kid.

Supposedly was not enough room in the car for Lampkin.

For the life of me, I just cannot understand how people can be so interested in recruits when it will be so many years ... er, decades before they will ever show up on campus!  What is this ... a great, great, great, great, grandson of a currently living legacy?

Daniel Fitzwater, 6'-6", 217 lb.  4.86 forty and 23 inch vertical out of high school.  Copiah-Lincoln Community College.  Calvary Baptist Academy, Shreveport, Louisiana.  Has an offer from Rutgers and Western Kentucky. last year's statistics, 186 completions out of 311 attempts for a 59.8 cmpletion percentage, 2,684 total yards and 298 yards per game through the air with 14.4 yards per completion, 19 touchdowns, five interceptions, and four sacks for 16 yards total lost on sacks. This is video of his Junior year in High School at Liberty High School, Liberty, Texas.

Update on JUCO QB Daniel Fitzwater ^
He did make it to campus on an unofficial visit.  He says he loved the visit.

However, the collective speculation seems to be that Horns will not take a second QB.
