they block 'hornsports'? where do you work...rivals.com?
Haha! It's weird...the front page at hornsports isn't blocked. The only thing blocked is the message board. If anyone has any suggestions on how to bypass, I'm all eyes.

If you hadn't have grabbed him, Fix, I would have lol.

With the 5th Overall Pick in the 2014 Draft, the Oakland Raiders select:

Position: OLB

Name: Khalil Mack

School: Buffalo

QB is a big need for the Raiders and I was definitely tempted to take either Bortles or Manziel, but with Bridgewater off the board, I felt like I would be better served attempting to address Oakland's pass rush issues and looking for a QB to develop later. Mack is going to be a beast.

Well I appreciate your kindness. My attention has been controlled by class and thesis work this week. My first real chance to give a look the last couple days.

No problemo! Mack's not a bad consolation prize.

Tell me about it. I'm being figuratively eviscerated with a combination of school-work and work-work. Feels like drowning. lol

Just a reminder, Draft Hours are 7am to 7pm. So with that said, no picks are allowed after 7pm except for the team currently on the clock (Minnesota). Minnesota has until 9:10 tomorrow morning to make their selection. The reason for that amount of time is because the last pick was made at 5:10, leaving only an hour and fifty minutes to make their pick today. They'll get two hours and ten minutes tomorrow after the draft starts up again at 7am.

The following teams should be prepared to make picks/trades within the next 24 hours:

Minnesota

Tampa Bay

Buffalo

Detroit

Hopefully we'll get more picks in tomorrow than we did today.

With the 6th Pick in the 2014 Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select:

Position: QB

Name: Blake Bortles

School: UCF

The Bucs will be making their pick about 7:30 AM (when I get to work). Be ready, goast55!

JACKSONVILLE TRADING BLOCK

Chad Henne (3rd rd), Blaine Gabbert (3rd rd), and Justin Blackmon (1st or 2nd rd) are on the block for Jacksonville.

With the 7th Overall Pick in the 2014 Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select:

Name: Jake Matthews

Position: OT

School: Texas A&M

The Bucs may have had a couple bigger needs than OT, but that doesn't change the fact that their bookends really aren't that good. It also looks like they're going to roll forward with Glennon, so if he's going to develop correctly, he's going to need time in the pocket (COUGHDAVIDCARRCOUGH), and Matthews is the best available.

With the 8th Overall Pick in the 2014 Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select:

Position: LB

Name: Anthony Barr

School: UCLA

Goast55 keeps takin' my dudes!

With the 9th Overall Pick in the 2014 Draft, the Buffalo Bills select:

Name: Johnny Manziel

Position: QB

School: Texas A&M

I almost took a receiver with this pick, but Manziel is the better value, especially when you consider that it just might be the Bills biggest need. It looks like Fitz is on his way out and after him, they have nobody. The Bills try to catch lightning in a bottle and I try not to get lynched for picking two Aggies.

Horrible pick, in my opinion. Don't forget about EJ Manuel who was a spark for that team last year.

Ps Fitz now plays for Tennessee

With the 10th Overall Pick in the 2014 Draft, the Detroit Lions select:

Position: CB

Name: Darqueze Dennard

School: Michigan State

While there are many that consider Gilbert to be the better of the two. I like Darqueze as a much better press corner which is vital when considering the receivers in the NFC North. He's also a better tackler, has shown ball hawk potential and will be a fan favorite coming out of Michigan State.

Cant agree more. EJ Manual was very good when healthy last year. Now you just created a QB problem in Buffalo when what they really needed were blockers and wideouts to let EJ and Spiller/Jackson to operate.

With the 11th Overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select:

Position: WR

Name: Mike Evans

School: Texas A&M

Tennessee has constantly gone after the safe first round pick, and tried for the homerun WR in the late rounds. I saw them do this this for all of VY's career there. Of course, that never worked.

Mike Evans is a difference-maker. And Jake still needs that security blanket. Give him Evans at the No.1 Spot, Hunter at the No.2, plus Wright in the slot. Defenses will HAVE to blitz less, and keep their DB's out of run support...simply because of the deep threat Evans and Hunter present.

Yeah, this is one of those picks where I let my personal opinion (I don't see Manuel sticking) get in the way of what the team would actually do. I probably should have done it differently. Oh well. I also forgot Fitz left lol. I thought he was riding the bench there collecting that ridiculous contract they gave him.

I guess at the end of the day, I don't see Glennon sticking in TB long-term either (possible, but if I had to put money on it...), so I should have at least followed the same logic.

You could always deal Manuel to a team needing a QB if you wanted. The pick doesn't have to be useless.

With the 12th Overall Pick in the 2014 Draft, the New York Giants select:

Position: Offensive Tackle

Name: Taylor Lewan

School: Michigan

Much needed OL help for Eli Manning has arrived. Lewan has great size and length and a mean streak. This is a building block to a more stable OL and protect Eli from another brutal 2013 statistical year and injury.

By the way, love this pick. I don't love that you gave up Loadholt to get it. I 100% understand trading Petersen while you can stilly get top value, but Loadholt was the best RT in the league last year and has been top ten since he got in the league in 2009.

On January 14, 2014, ProFootballFocus.com recognized Loadholt as one of their highest-rated offensive tackles in the league, stating, "Right tackle Phil Loadholt (+25.0) earned All-Pro honors in our eyes. He didn’t get the press he garnered last year as the team struggled but he remains the prototypical right tackle."[11]
Right now you have Bortles and Barr, but your going to need to find protection for your rookie QB and you no longer have the run game to help ease his way in. Im thinking this would have been better served going Bortles then Lewan or better yet, trading down from 8 to grab another 3rd rounder if possible. Still I like what Bortles brings to Minn.

Atlanta - you guys are win now! Shoring up the line with Loadholt and adding Petersen to go with your weapons at WR, just stay healthy and get some depth on defense and you guys should challenge this year.
