There are many kids working hard in this football factory called the State of Texas for a scholarship offer. Not every kid gets the advantages of major recruiting services or big programs, and these are the kind of kids we want to show to college recruiters out there.

I've been following the journey of a 2014 QB at Burleson High School, and he has taken the time to tell us about himself, his recruitment, the upcoming year, and more.

JW: Tell everyone a bit about yourself, your measurables, and academics.

IH: My name is Isaiah Hall and I'm returning for my second season as starting quarterback at Burleson High School . I am 6'1 202lbs and 4.7 in the 40 yard dash. This spring I participated in The Next Level Athlete Camp and was named the 2013 Texas Showcase Series QB MVP. I am a straight A student, in the National Honor Society, and take my education as serious as my football career. I volunteer at Wings of Hope which helps gives disabled kids the chance to ride horses, and help out with the local pee wee football teams here in the Burleson area.

JW: Burleson is coming off a tough season under a new coach. Entering year two, how have things progressed, and how do you feel about the upcoming season?

IH: Last season was very tough, we had some distractions and never thought we'd hit rock bottom, but we never gave up. This year, it is all about forgetting the past season and rising up in 2013. During the off season we concentrated on strength and conditioning, but have focused intently on all aspects of the coming year. I am very confident about this upcoming season and my teammates around me. Our focus is winning the district and making the playoffs.

JW. What attributes do you believe can you bring to a program?

IH: I believe I can go to the next level and be a great quarterback and team leader. I've worked hard the past few years on developing my passing and running game to make myself an efficient dual threat quarterback. I can make all the throws, be it touch passes, intermediate routes, or throwing the 40-45 yard strikes downfield into tight windows. I bring energy, enthusiasm, and I never let my teammates get down.

JW: You participated in the Elite 11 camps. For those not familiar with the process, tell us how that went?

The Elite 11 consisted of quarterbacks coming around several different states, and you had to be invited to the camp. During the camp, they split us up into four different groups and evaluated talent from there. I had the opportunity to meet Trent Dilfer and get some coaching. Trent Dilfer and the other coaches there had positive things to say about my performance.

JW: How has the recruiting process gone so far?

IH: I've been invited to several junior days the past few months, and I have sat down and spoken with many coaches who gave me positive reviews and have stayed in touch, but im still waiting on my first official offer. I've camped at North Texas, Texas State, Sam Houston State, and Rice so far. I'm going to keep working hard and trying to earn that scholarship offer.

JW: What kind of offense do you see yourself thriving in at the next level?

IH: I really enjoy running the spread offense, it plays to my strengths and helps me be the type of quarterback a Defensive Coordinator spends all week worried about. I'm a student of the game and can find the weaknesses in any defense I face. That said, I am a quarterback, and I'd rather beat teams with my arm first, using my legs when necessary.

Isaiah is a great kid, very intelligent, hard working, and he's going to make a program out there very happy. We'll keep up with him all season long right here.

Wow. Kid is smart and a good athlete. Lot of schools would be lucky to have a guy like that. Rice would be a great option for Hall if he gets an offer.

Great piece. Nice to hear about these good athletes that are a little under the radar!

Best of luck to Isaiah.

Big road upset win for Isaiah Hall and the Burleson Elks this past week, with a 28-20 road defeat of the Cleburne Yellowjackets.

Hall has been getting a lot of interest from Houston Baptist. More to follow.
