I have zero inside info, or personal interaction with Briles. I do feel the need to shower whenever I see him coach, or speak. Just comes across to me as slimy. JMO, and nothing more.

Doak I'm a horn by birth only, my dad graduated from UT way back when. I now live in Boise, ID, spent my early years in Arlington before Pop moved us up north.

Sorry, should have been clearer. In a post earlier last night, McP said Texas had interest from the 2nd best coach in college football ( Saban as the best ). That's what my #2 was meant as, not 2nd choice, but 2nd overall coach.

That was my first thought as well, makes zero sense if those were indeed the thoughts on Saban.
