SignUp Now!the 'would you rather travel to...' arguement applies to such a small number it really doesn't matter. I'd rather travel to Hawaii or Aruba, but probably not happening. As to bobby .. .a review of his scheduled opponents shows plenty of Tulanes (a regular) Furman Georgia Southern. . .were there some good teams? Sure. . .there were plenty of mutts as well . . .
As to KU in basketball . .. so schedule them. ..nothing says we cannot still play those teams. . .especially in basketball. . . .but football is the driver. . .you would really rather travel to Manhatten than Clemson. . . .Ames vs Atlanta or Boston
As to OSU. . . .that came out with out last round of negotiations. . . .OSU does not want to be disconnected from OU. . .aggie did want to leave us. . . .apples...oranges. . .

Agree 100%, but I'd hate to see the NCAA hoops & baseball tourneys change much. Love the underdog stories; Florida Gulf Coast, Butler, Gonzaga, etc. As a whole, the NCAA is an outdated bureaucracy that's past its usefulness. The ncaa as an organization appears to be dead-man-walking. if i was to bet, i'd guess the football landscape looks a helluva different in 10 years than it does now, so the angst over what conference we're in today will probably be a moot point very soon.

My best guess is the Top 64-80 football programs break away and align geographically into 4 super-conferences with 2 divisions each. Winner from 4 leagues automatically qualify for Playoffs, that will eventually be expanded to 8.
Only potential stumbling block is anti-trust lawsuit from those left out. Firm criteria will need to be established to have a seat at the BIG BOYS table. Maybe an English Premier League relegation system is adopted?
Yes, football is the driver, but adding teams for the sake of "cool travel places for fans" is becoming an elementary and tired "argument"..

Well, yeah, because Starkville, Auburn, and College Station are tourist destinations! :huh:Yes, football is the driver, but adding teams for the sake of "cool travel places for fans" is becoming an elementary and tired "argument".

I'm not sure what you're trying to argue here....Well, yeah, because Starkville, Auburn, and College Station are tourist destinations!
Are you sure Mack is gone. I see him all the time....and?
so what... he's gone.
This would be dumb of us to do bc we have had some of our young men in trouble many times, IE. Billy Pittman, Ramonce TaylorCan we do a comparison between conference for arrests? I would like to see that comparison. ....
Dumb??? Your talking about guys that were here 5+ years ago... atm gas had what 12 arrests in the last 15 months and I doubt that the big 12 has has 6 or less combined... so get your facts straight before you call something dumb...This would be dumb of us to do bc we have had some of our young men in trouble many times, IE. Billy Pittman, Ramonce Taylor
That list would be longer than most of us would like to admit. This would be dumb of us to do bc we have had some of our young men in trouble many times, IE. Billy Pittman, Ramonce Taylor
Mainly these four "couldn't wait to get away from UT (and OU)" because of money, ego, and none were a serious threat on the gridiron (Ex: NU 1-9 vs UT during the Big12 Era). Here are some facts most choose to ignore.Don't say anything negative about Texas or the Big 12 or it's a pity party or you are a whiner.
The SWC was all Texas schools and THE TEXAS SCHOOL had John Mackovic as it's head coach so Texas is a lot at fault for the collapse of the SWC. Big 12 happens and Nebraska, crybabies that they may be, couldn't wait to get away from us. Colorado scrams for the Pac 12 and Missouri and Aggie go to the SEC. You can blame all of those guys for ruining the Big 12, but I can guarantee you if Texas had been good the last 4 years then everybody would be pimping the Big 12.
That's not a pity party and that's not whining, just the way it is.
