Question for the old-timers: Who was better: 1971 Oklahoma or 1983 Nebraska?

'72 Texas averaged 25.4 points on offense and gave up 10.8 points on defense.
'77 Texas averaged 35.9 points on offense and gave up 9.5 points on defense.

How do they compare to the '83 Longhorns?

Good catch. '72 Horns were a residual team from the Championship years. I never thought we would lose another game. I was over seas...uh...courtesy of the USA at the time and unable to watch any games. That '77 team had Earl Campbell and was a Championship quality team. However....by the end of the year they were decimated by injuries That was another year "that might have been" just like the '83 team
