2025 Texas Longhorns Fall Camp

What about Steph? Is he inside!

Nvm, I see he is an IOL. Surely one or two of the IOL have cross-trained at OT for emergencies, right? Kibble, Stroh, Robertson, Merrill?
Those are inside guys. I am hoping we never have to play Merrill.

Jardon Chatman, Nick Brooks, Jordan Coleman are three off the top of my head.

Merrill isn't listed on the most updated roster. So, if you see him out there that is make some major news. Chatman then Brooks. But hopefully Baker stays healthy. He needs reps and so does Chatman.

Yeah, that one is on me. I was looking at the scholarship distribution list on 247. Merrill was listed so I thought he was still there. Should've looked further down and I would've saw Jett Bush still listed as a LB. Also, Gardner at RB and S. Bolden at WR.

Bad baseline data

Scrimmage this morning. Started at 10 am so likely over by now.

Early report is that Wingo had a great showing. Which is great news after being out a few days due to dehydration.

FYI, TE Emaree Winston is out for a couple of months with a shoulder injury he suffered earlier this week.

Thats too bad because he was holding his own against Townsend. Endries,Shannon, Washington and Townsend will get most of the PT now.

Sounds like it was a pretty healthy scrimmage. Brevard went down at one point but returned. Nick brooks came out with a leg injury and didn’t return but was noted to have no crutches, brace, boot leaving the facility. Sources have said he’ll be okay.

Mosely didn’t play at wr today. I haven’t see. anything about this injury but doesn’t sound serious.

Some practice notes from OTF.

Buy stock in Christian Clark. Continues to impress.

Filasame is moving up the depth chart rececntly. He will be a key back up

KJ Lacy "the most mobil QB at Texas in some time"

WR Michael Terry started the camp a bit behind others, but now has pulled even and continues to get better.

"Townsend is a weapon"

Kobe Black is first off the bench at CB. He's pulled ahead of others slightly.

Its not that the offense is bad, but that the defense is that good. Still, offense did very well in the passing game with a few TD passes. Defense may be the best in the country.

The Texas Longhorn website has always been slow at updating.

Lacy is more mobile than Arch?

OTF says CJ Baxter is not as limited as first thought. They believe he will see 10-12 carries against OSU.

He scored on a red zone run up the middle during the scrimmage, not wearing a green jersey.

He's back.

Christian Clark is really turning heads. Can stop on a dime, change directions, better than anyone else on the team.

I remember when he was being recruited Sark and others saw similarities to Bryce Young.

It will be interesting to see how the QB room shakes out once Arch leaves. People sleeping on Lacey may be in for a pleasant surprise.

There was some mistaken reporting that said CJ wasn't wearing a brace...he was.

But, he was full contact and had success so it all is postive news despite the brace.

Texas conducted a full scrimmage today. OTF had some notes that I'll share. This was a scrimmage that was closed to the media and public, so Sark felt free to open the playbook some and the offense benefitted from it. Insiders say the offense got the better of the defense today.

WR Emmit Mosely and S Jonah Williams were held out today because of injuries. Williams is dealing with a hamstring issue from baseball season.

No serious injuries today. Yeah!

Ryan Wingo had himself a day.

James Simon received high praise. He broke a long TD run.

Nick Townsend flashed today. Shannon also looked good.

Offense only had one fumble, a bobbled center snap. Played pretty clean the rest of the way.

Baxter continues to impress. Looks like he and Wisner will split starting duties.

Alex January blocked a FG.

Parker Livingstone had several big plays.

Looks like Caldwell has pulled ahead in the battle for 2nd string QB. KJ Lacey got some time with the 1s and was very effective.

Jaydon Chatman was 1st up in the OT order off the bench

Thanks SHA. Always appreciate these run downs.

So happy to hear about Baxter. If he is 100% healthy then the backfield just went from solid to great.

Sounds like Wingo is gonna ball out this year. Haven't heard much on DeAndre Moore, but I keep hearing great things on Livingstone. Could he be the breakout O threat no one saw coming?

On Baxter, Sark came out and said that he has had to change his tune on Baxter. He had been pretty cautious with him but he's looked so good and been so healthy that Sark has felt comfortable playing him more aggressively. Great news for the young man who has worked really hard to come back healthy.

Not much on Moore, but he probably isn't in need of a high utilization rate given his experience and he isn't a guy whose game is predicated on making a lot of highlights. Livingstone has looked to be the 3rd or 4th WR since Spring. With Mosely out with injury he has gotten a lot of run and has looked good doing it.

Agree and I hope Manning spreads the ball around plenty so defenses won't be inclined to double Wingo.

Moore is nursing a minor injury. Livingston has been aa surprise. His speed is deceptive. I also like two of the freshmen WRs alot. Nevver thought French would be in third place of the incoming frosh WRs.
