2024 Baseball Season Thread

We probably dropped from a 2 seed to a 3rd.
I doubt we drop to a 3, we may be a two seed in a more challenging regional. Conference tournaments have been shown in the past to have much less effect on seeding than regular season games.

Prior to the tournament, 2 publications had has going to #3 A&M or #5 Arkansas. There is one pub updated today that has us going to #10 Virginia.

So we get rewarded for going 0-2?

To be clear I am referencing 3 different publications. Two had us going to face #3 and #5 prior to the big 12 tournament. They haven't updated their predictions. The other publication had us going to face #10 after our big 12 losses. Just a difference in opinion by different publications.

When is the selection happening?

Without the LHN these days, I haven't seen any Texas baseball games. I've seen that they haven't been doing well of late. I hope we get the same results against a&m as softball but chances are slim.

Wow, this thread is really dead huh?

Texas wins their opening game over 2 seed Louisiana 12-7.

Grubbs with a decent start, 5 innings giving up 4 runs. Texas had a 12-4 lead when the bullpen took over. I think Pierce was hoping to save his two best bullpen arms but Cade O'Hara was ineffective after 1.1 innings and Andre Duplantier had to take over. Andre put out a fire and was then solid to close out the game.

Every starter got a hit for 15 total and we worked 10 walks as well. Jalin Flores hit a grand slam.

Pretty much as good of a start as you could ask for.
