Kansas State has caught everyone's attention in the past couple of weeks due to convincing wins and some nice offensive output. They seemed to have turned a QB problem into a successful QB strategy, using both QBs during the game for different roles.
The Cats are on a roll and are playing their best ball of the season.
Can Texas beat this team with a 2nd string QB?
That depends on which Texas team shows up. If we see the one we saw in Tuscaloosa, we will beat Kansas State. If we see the one that almost lost to Houston, we're in trouble.
My hope here is that our defense can answer the call and control the running game. Force KSU to beat you in the air. They are decent, not great, passing. We have to shut down the rushing game if we are to win.
Likewise, we must establish the running game on the offensive side of the ball. If we can't run, we're putting a ton of pressure on the arm of Murphy. We must also end the troubles we have in the red zone. With the weight we have up front, we should be able to bully a defense to get two lousy yards.
I like Texas in this one. We do play inspired when we play at home.
