2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

You must understand that Georgia and Ohio State both have years of high-end success and putting players in the NFL under the belts. We don't have that, so we're not really comparable there, yet.

Plus, there's always aggy decommit season so we can continue shopping McK.
Okay just a difference of opinion.  I’m for getting elite recruits in early so as the board gets whittled down the impact on your ability to close with little or no margin for error is minimized.  I hate having to rely on trying to flip a 5 star instead of signing him outright early on the process.  Like today with McKinley, we now have to try and flip him so we are playing from behind.  There is not another 10-15 5 stars left on the board so every one counts now and everyone is a priority.  I know that Bama has done it this way for a long time but Sark is not Saban yet.  There is the transfer portal as well but as far as DL go there are not many great ones out there, especially in the portal.  So we will see how it goes but I am not as optimistic as you are that we will be able to sign a top 5 class.  We might get into the top ten by the skin of our teeth.

Yep, Bama, Georgia, and Ohio State have been and still are on a different recruiting level.

And whoever is #4 is still way behind those three. Being #4 is pretty much meaningless until you reach the same level as Bama, Georgia, and Ohio State.

I was think the same thing with Baker.  We have not seen the O-line take much of a step since last year according to the first game.  Hope they can get it together.

Honestly, I am convinced Sark and Staff did not game plan Rice. I think they felt we could beat Rice if we just go out and do what we do. And in most years, that's probably enough.

I think they've been getting ready for Bama for the last 3 weeks.

I agree 100%. After the 1st quarter I was sure that they totally looked past Rice all along and were completely focused on Bama because that is their season making game. I also felt that they held back a lot on both offense and defense so Bama wouldn’t know what hit them!
