Key points from his press conference were as follows:
- Team needed the bye week, Players were off on Saturday and are off today.
- Injury Update - BJ Foster practiced yesterday (probable for WVU). Collin Johnson and Demarvion Overshown will practice tomorrow (status for the weekend will be known more after tomorrow). Jordan Whittington is just starting to run on the ground. Does not know his status for the weekend.
- Herman talks about the young guys on the team, says this will be the first time in a hostile environment for them. But says it will only effect his guys if they let it.
- On Sam Ehlinger turning 21 today and if he's given Ehlinger any advice on turning 21.... No. Was asked what he did on his 21st birthday and he said he doesn't remember.
- Says Neil Brown's WVU team plays physical and they have a secondary that plays unique.
- Herman says the program is not far along developmentally to enjoy prosperity. Says there no element of comfortability on the team.
- Herman is impressed with the way David Gbenda runs and hits. Tyler Johnson, Myron Warren, Braden Liebrock, Jared Wiley and Kennedy Lewis are a couple of names Herman mentioned as far as players that impress him.
- Herman says he knows his team can stop the run, knows his quarterback is as good as there is in the country at managing the game. Says he would like to see his team defend the pass better (man and zone) and show consistency in the run game. Says they are headed in the right direction in the running game.
- Says WVU's QB Austin Kendall is very savvy. Says ball comes out quick and he is fun to watch.
- On Keaontay Ingram, Herman says the biggest thing they try to teach him was patience.
- On Keondre Coburn's effort at nose guard - says he loves the way Coburn comes to work every day. Says he has two speeds: Full and Off. Says Coburn is the kind of guy that can be a captain on this football team.
