I believe that was a big part of it. With so many talented young arms, there are not many innings available for a senior that is trying to find his way back to being dominant. Add to that the travel roster is smaller than the full roster and he was on the short list.
I appreciate how good he was his sophomore year, and he just couldn’t seem to get back to that level, despite being given multiple opportunities up to this point over the last season and a half. He will always be a Longhorn and I hope he gets his degree and does good things moving on into his adult life.
