*****GAME THREAD - TEXAS vs. IOWA STATE*****

I’d say although ISU wasn’t nearly as highly rated as past teams on offense, this is THE FIRST game both sides of the ball are bringing it

You read my mind.  I was just about to post that same thing.  The defense has looked like the defense of old.

Real quiet on the board tonight. Lol

Nice win for Texas! Just need to take care of business next week.

Other than the fumble no real complaints, well called game on both sides of the ball. D-Line played well. Having Roach back was huge

From the computer screen it looks and sounds like the atmosphere has completely transformed. Credit new Ad for making it about the kids. Finally, so smart.

Good team win. That’s what we needed right there. We’re seeing improvement for sure.

Ok Cool, Hook’em.

Kickers for the game: Dicker and Assalley.  Hehehehehehe

My initial thoughts . . .

1. I expected a big letdown when Sam left the game. Buechele held up well, even ran a couple times for good yardage. Very pleased with him.

2. Lil Jordan Humphrey – if he were to return to UT next year, he'd be in the Heisman conversation. He is special.

3. Bru McCoy, were you watching LJH tonight?

4. For all the pre-game hype about ISU's defense, we ran the ball pretty much at will on them.

5. It's easy to see that Sam's running ability and the seriousness of that threat make this offense percolate. Without him, its a very different offense.

6. Defense showed up well tonight. Anyone catch Ossai on the game's last play? They were having fun out there.

7. I felt really good about the play calling for most of the game. However, there seemed to be a 4-5 play rotation that kept going. Not sure if by design or because thats what ISU was giving them. But great job overall.

8. We better not coast against Kansas. They played OU a helluva half of football today.

9. My defensive player of the game would be Charles Omenihu (sp?). He played a helluva game.

10. Offensive MVP was LJH. Hon Mention to the duo of Tre Watson and Ingram and the OL.

OU beat Kansas 55-40.  OU allow Kansas to score 40 points on them.  That is the second most points Kansas has scored in a game.  The most was when they beat a very bad Rutgers with 51 points.  Rutgers only win was against Tx State. I hope the hillbillies stomp the land thieves.  I would like for our defense to get another shot at Grier. Besides, nothing good happens when OU wins.

Nice list.  I just have one thing to add...8-3.  Drastic improvement overall.

Gonna be on Shoulder watch next week. Sam told Herman his shoulder felt weak on throws more than 10-15 yards. Prolly why Shane stayed in the game. Gotta rehab it quick. No 2 week healing time like the last injury.
