Robert Barnes - SLC

We'll see what happens. Recruiting is a funny deal. I still see him at OU unless the wheels come off completely.

Big Daddy, OU's wheels looked like they were spinning out of control on Sat. I wanted Texas to be the ones to dash their hopes and dreams; therefore, I wanted them to come to Dallas undefeated, then scurry back across the RR defeated and deflated. Now, they have already been whipped and the bloom is off the rose.

Hook 'em!

It's always fun to be the one to ruin their season. Im afraid that this year, they'll come into the RRR with 2 losses. The roles will be reversed from last year, making them very dangerous.

They may have 3 losses by the time they face Texas...Ohio State in Norman on 9/17 and TCU in

Fort Worth on 10/1 will both be tough for them. But yes, they WILL be very dangerous when Texas

plays them.

You may be right, but TCU was less than impressive themselves.

Barnes is very close with Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Obi Eboh. Had Eboh stayed committed to Texas this might already be a done deal. Definitely something to watch for. Good stuff OP

3 losses . . . very dangerous
what is it about having their stuff packed 3 times that will make tough players out of guys who've goofed off the past off-season?  that looks like a mack brown team.

Don't know that I agree with your sentiment on this one. I think Reggie will have a lot to say if Texas is the other option.

One might think, but when your son says "this is where I want to go" and you feel like you're pushing your will on him otherwise . . . you back off.

My oldest son went to aggy for a year. I hated it, but he never knew I hated it. It's where he wanted to go.

It's different when you're in those shoes.

Barnes is the real deal. You absolutely get that kid if you possibly can. If the door is open, Charlie needs to know.

Yeah, I think people don't fully understand that college/team allegiance takes a huge backseat when you're talking about your children.  My eldest had Arkansas and OU as two of his favorite schools before ultimately accepting his admissions to Texas.  Lots of kids from Southlake go to Arkansas and OU.  I entertained it and, when he eventually settled on Arkansas as his #1, I actually told him he could go.  I just asked that he listen to the reasons why I didn't think it was a good business decision.  He ultimately agreed.  All that said, when it comes to your kids, unless you're talking about things that will actually hurt them or their future, you have to let them spread their own wings.

i don't think you fully realize the deal when coach charlie wants a player.

he's been hamstrung the whole time here by a constant refrain from supposed friend and foe alike, a wailing moan that charlie is just passing through.  it'd be one thing if only the opposing coaches and their fans were howling this, but our supposed friendly bmd supporters have been giving out the same message and exercising it through their weasel plant in the director's office.  now that charlie has slapped the whole college football world wide-awake, watch this man work.

If we were to flip Barnes, it would be a blow to OU's recruiting. Not sure if any of you have noticed, but OU's class so far is pretty incredible, much better than their usual effort.

As for Obi, I had heard he left on very good terms with UT. Hard to turn down Stanford and their academics, west coast life, etc. when it calls your name. So it would not surprise me a bit if Obi were saying positive things about UT to Barnes.
