A lot of storylines to look for but none greater than Buechele and his progress.  Staff is really really high on him right now.

Watching Ricky, David and Emmanuel, reminds me to appreciate the kind of players we've made a point to recruit: good, smart, interesting kids. Character kids. They haven't all worked out that way but you know we've made the effort as much or more than any big program in college football. Mack gets a lot of credit for further institutionalizing that.

Observations from the warmup:

Swooped and buechelle both spin the ball well with zip. Big drop after them. Buechelle looks so natural to only be a freshmen

Chris warren looks "thin" for his weight

Collin Johnson is huge. As if that needed to be said

Unpopular opinion, but I think Swoopes has looked decent today, based on mechanics. From what I've seen, the receivers were dropping some pretty easy balls to catch. That being said, Buechele has looked much more impressive.

Swoopes needs to not try to throw every pass at the speed of sound to his receivers. Take a little off. And the WRs need to learn to catch balls away from their bodies.

Buechele's totals today: 19 of 36 passing for 278 yards and 2 TDs

Swoopes totals today: 4 of 16 passing for 71 yds and 2 INTs
