I'm making a prediction that Texas beats TCU this weekend. I think the frogs are ripe for the upset. The Longhorns D isn't great, but I still think there better than TT. Heard and the offense bounce back and shred the decimated TCU defense. I'm just going with a gut feeling on this one. I think this is the week all three phases play together. You don't have to agree or believe it with me (in sure most wont).

Honestly,

I'm with you on this. It will be interesting to hear the narrative spin if we were to win. This game is very winnable.

I'm usually a pretty positive person and I'm really hoping yall are right but that will be a tough task for the Horns.

The team will bounce back and play well, but which crew will be officiating? We can win if...

I hear you. I just feel this is the week that the Longhorns get their signature win and the corner turns. I've been around and I've seen a lot football and it just feels right. All the negative things around this Longhorn team turns around.

I will throw a contingency on this though.Three things must happen. Bedford must start Boyd and Hill, Duke moves to nickel, and Tristin Nickelson or Brandon Hodges starts at right tackle. Hell, anyone but Hutchins.

I want some of what ya'll are consuming. TCU's defense may be a bit banged up etc, but I bet it isn't as bad as Rice's or California's. We scored 13 points offensively vs OSU......Our defense  gave up about 48 to TCU last year and we are not nearly as good this year. Expect an ugly morning and afternoon. We will not have the breakout game ya'll expect until we face a weak team. Kansas is on the horizon......You don't have too long to wait.

The truth is that TCU is very banged up as they lost another starting wide receiver yesterday for the season and they have had to replace 8 starters from last years defense due to injury and what not.  This is not the same TCU that beat the Longhorns last year. Still TCU will have a much better passing and running game than what California or Okie lite had so our offense will need to have a running game to help our defense. Move the ball and chew the clock up and keep their offense on the sideline. This game is two edge sword for Texas and Coach Strong. Yes beating TCU at home would give this team a HUGE burst of confidence especially going into the Red River Shootout,  but if they lose and lose big you could see the season get away from Coach Strong and his staff and this team could spiral down.

Do I think Texas will win? No, I do know that this team will not roll over like last year. The FRESHMAN won't allow it.

I think Texas has a great shot. TCU is not only missing a bunch of folks, but the healthy ones are pretty banged up right now.

Texas will need to contend with Boykin and Doctson but defensively TCU doesn't scare me at all.

If we can continue to improve on defense, we'll take it to the wire and have as good a shot as TCU.

This team is hungry and tired of being disappointed.

I'd love an upset, but a blowout win for the frogs is most likely. Too young and just still too lean on talent.

TCU reminds me of the really good Mike Leach Texas Tech teams of the past decade. We had a good deal of success with them. The defensive game plan was to keep the receivers in front of our defenders and tackle well as they were going to complete passes. On the offensive side, we were very good at time of possession and ball control. I think this game will be won or loss in the trenches. If we can handle TCU's defensive front and pound them with Gray and Foreman, I think we can stay in the game. What we can't do is try to get into a shoot out with them like Tech did. We are not that kind of team yet.

"pound them with Gray and Foreman"

Would really be nice to see this happen, but let's face it, we have no reason to believe that it can happen.

Nobody TRIES to get in a shootout. You are forced into shootouts when you play an offense with firepower and your defense can't stop them. TCU may be banged up, but we aren't exactly healthy; especially on the OL where we were weak already. Our defense isn't healthy either, and we have been giving up 38,28,45, and 30 points to teams with far less firepower than TCU. Add in the mental aspect and it doesn't bode well for us in Fort Worth. Sure we will go in with fight, but in the back of everyone's mind that little guy will be saying," Who and how do we screw this one up this time ?" Watson totally screwed us over vs ND. The kicker blows it vs Cal, the punter blows it vs OSU.....What could be next ?

No way TCU is anywhere like Leach's Tech teams. Gary Patterson is a defensive minded coach who happens to have an OC who knows how to run a spread offense. We are lucky they are banged up or they would beat us like a red-headed step child. As it is I expect 48-27.

Just read Brian Davis's tweet "In 10 Big 12 games, referee Alan Eck's officiating crew flagged Texas an avg of 13.5 times/106.5 yards. Other crews avg. = 5.75 flags/50 yds".that's ridiculous

I attended Texas and graduated from TCU. Obviously I pull for TCU in this one but this is the only game each year that I am not full Longhorn. There is zero Longhorn hate from me, even in this game. I expect a close, relatively low scoring game in the neighborhood of 28-24. I'll take the Frogs, of course. We know we are not considered your rival but this is always a really big game for us. Good luck and may both our teams stay healthy.

When pigs fly.Texas has one chance in a thousand if Perkins plays. One in a million if he does not.

What I don't understand is how we didn't get some really good JUCO OL who could step in and fill about 3 or 4 holes in our line. Why are true Freshmen playing, and we have nobody worth a darn to fill in when an injury occurs??? Two OL left leaving room to bring in some JUCO talent.....We better bring some in this year, as we lose three off the line....or we will be YOUNG and inexperienced on the OL once again.....
