I was at the event today and it was a great one. Here are a few notes.
Marvin Wilson 2017 was the DL MVP and probably the overall MVP. He is a grown man with size but he needs to work on his lower body. He will probably be a top 20 national player
Jalen Hurts won QB MVP a day after winning a power lifting meet. He squatted 545 benched 275 and dead lifted 560. He is a physical freak that is very relaxed about his recruiting. He is not an attention whore by any means. He is taking his time and enjoying the process.
Trey Williams CE King won the RB MVP and he put on a clinic in 1 on 1s. He is not the biggest kid but he has juice.
Dontavious Jackson from Alief Elsik won LB MVP
The biggest sleeper may have been TE Zarrian Holcombe from Humble Summer Creek 6'5 215 put in a ton of work and he seems like he may be fluid enough to be spread WR.
2016 ATH from Kingwood Sewo Olonilua will play RB or LB in college but he worked out the the DBs at this event and he has skills. He didn't win all his match ups but he stayed in good position. This kid is going to be a big time player and UT will have a chance.
2016 OL Keenan Murphy from Crosby normally plays OT but slid inside to play center and put in some work. He even called out Wilson and had some success against him. He didn't win MVP but he was by far the nastiest linemen out there.
Another sleeper is 2016 OG Robert Oliver from Ce King as he one OL MVP. He is 6'3 295 and plays tackle for his team but will slide inside at the next level.
