SignUp Now!ou didn't hire very well between Switzer and Stoops. Then again, we missed on a few between Akers and Brown, so I suppose catching lightening in a bottle is not a common occurrence. That said, I'd be happy playing ol' Bobby's boys for a few more years. I think Stoops/Strong matchup will be a good one for the good guys.Would a move like this make Texas fans happy? Or would you rather play against a Stoops-coached Sooner team for a handful of years more?
I really don't care one way or the other if he goes or stays. We have Charlie.Would a move like this make Texas fans happy? Or would you rather play against a Stoops-coached Sooner team for a handful of years more?
Disagree. I would have agreed 5 years ago. The thing is, this mentality has actually hurt us. If OU does move on we should actually want them to get a good coach, a damn good coach in fact. It's the only rivalry we have left with any historic significance and the marquee game on our schedule. The rivalry needs to be fierce with playoff implications or both programs will suffer.i do not give a flip who is coaching at other schools.
100% correct. There are only two schools the selection committee gives a rat's butt about in the Big 12. Its obvious from how they have treated TCU and Baylor. If Texas and OU aren't strong the Big 12 is no more relevant than Conference USA. If the only losses Texas and OU had were to TCU and Baylor; the committee couldn't disregard the Frogs and Bears like they have in favor of SEC teams without some major furrowing of brows.Disagree. sorry. i'd rather have john blake back and they go 3-9. screw ou.Disagree. I would have agreed 5 years ago. The thing is, this mentality has actually hurt us. The biggest reason agricultural is an attraction is that they can point to marquee games on their schedule. This is great for kids who want to play at an elite level and it's great for fans who enjoy hard fought football. I get your point but I'd way rather line up with Charlie Strong against a badass OU team and go toe to toe than to walk over a John Blake hapless bunch.sorry. i'd rather have john blake back and they go 3-9. screw ou.
who is FSU's rival of 'historic significance'? it's miami if there is one and they've sucked for years. Ohio State's is michigan, who has also sucked for years. One or both of these teams, from conferences worse than the Big 12, will be in the playoffs.
if we take care of OUR business, we'll be fine.
