5 stars in Texas

This his where I think the 5 stars end up. Mack-LSU, Jefferson-Texas, Sheffield-Bama, Lodge-Ole Miss, Murray-A&M, Stidham-Tech, Teuhema-LSU, Thompson-Bama.

Only the Aggys could pull a freaking Aggy. The SEC got access to the state and money, while simultaneously getting a mediocre/beatable team in A&M.

Really hope we can pull Jefferson... He seems like a really great kid from what I have seen him post and the image portrayed of him. A good clean kid that can play, we need that.

Can't say I disagree with any of those, however as mentioned in Burnt Ends, I think there is a strong possibility of Murray NOT ending up at Texas A&M.
I agree with that. He's the most iffy IMO. It's hard to pick a legacy going somewhere else though. If he visits Oregon, that's when it gets interesting.

I sure as heck don't want to see Murray at Oklahoma. As bad as I hate the aggies...I would rather he be an aggie than a dirt burglar. In other words, I don't want us to have play against him .

Let me begin by saying this, I don't want Murray at OU and I think he's a good player.

With that said, I think he's drastically overrated. First, I have a strong dislike for small QBs that like to run all over the football field. Murray is 5-10 180, and that's being generous. He's an injury waiting to happen. Second, Allen is absolutely loaded with talent. It's a freaking college football team. IMO Murray's talent looks better than it really is because of the players around him. Third, I don't like QBs that come from systems in high school. Again, I think the system makes Murray look better than he really is. I said the same thing about Gilbert coming out of HS. Lake Travis made Gilbert, not the other way around. Murray is a playmaker there's no denying that, but can he be an elite QB. Time will tell I guess.

The other interesting thing is I wonder how Stidham feels right now. He signed a financial aid agreement so he's locked into Tech. I bet he would be looking around right now had he not signed the financial aid agreement.

You may be right on Lodge, but don't count out TCU, UT and a couple others. TCU is pretty hot right now. I hear.

Mack to LSU, although I understand it, its not a given. UT still in contact. In fact, I've heard UT has been in contact with the junior DT who plays right beside him.

Losing Emanuel Porter to TCU still stings me. But put Porter and Lodge on the same field together - sheet.

Unfortunately, it's very possible that Texas gets no one on this list.

Also very possible that it's a clean sweep by the SEC.

I've never really understood it but Texas Tech seems to have a good relationship with Stephenville. They recruit that area really well. I'm not so sure that Stidham would bounce even if he had the opportunity to do so.

Stidham is a solid at Tech, IMO. The SEC may lay claim to many of the men on that list but they won't sweep.

For some reason, I don't think Mack ends up at aggie. He's obviously already looking around and I fully expect them to lose to Auburn and LSU and be in a real dog fight with Missouri. I know Missouri hasn't been very good this year but let's face it, aggie just struggled with ULM.

I also agree with the earlier poster about Murray. I think he's overrated. He's pretty good but small. When he gets to college, he'll struggle seeing over an offensive line that probably averages being 6'5" tall or so.

My bad on Stidham. Kind of glossed over the part about him signing some sort of financial aid agreement or whatever it was.

I don't know how overrated Murray is, I'll never be accused of being a talent evaluator, but I do wonder how much size is going to be an issue for him.  He looks small by high school standards - does anyone know if that 5'10" is a legit height?

More evidence that the SEC is perceived as being a far superior conference in football than the Big 12.  I don't see this changing anytime soon as long as ESPN remains in love with them.

This isn't true. Stidham will end up a Tech because he's already signed his financial aid agreement. IMO Malik is a pretty big lean to Texas. Mama normally wins out in situations like these.

NVM on the Sitdham comment I see you saw my previous comment.

Mack likes the attention but I've always said he likes to be aligned with a winner/cool school. A&M isn't cool right now, trust me that matters with Mack.

And I see that you saw that I had seen your previous comment ;)

recruting is like playing marbles......you hit some and you miss some...you got to have your best shooter involved to hit on the playing marble (5 star) in the circle...... or play odds or evens with 4 marbles
