2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

http://texas.scout.com/2/1443610.html

Three-star linebacker Robert Revels made an unofficial visit to the University of Texas this past weekend. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound inside backer checks in from Houston (TX) Reagan High School.

Robert Revels is your prototypical middle linebacker. He is a big, physical, tough as nails player who loves and seeks out contact. He is at his best when he is attacking downhill. This past weekend Revels made an unofficial visit to Texas as Charlie Strong and company hosted BYU.

" I just loved the family atmosphere even though they were getting beat pretty bad," Revels said. "It was still a packed house and the diehard fans were still screaming when they did something good. The best part of my trip was just the experience and the environment of Big12 football."

Regan will play Richmond Foster on Friday, and then Revels will make an unofficial visit to TCU. He has interest in AlabamaHoustonLSUOklahoma, Texas and TCU.

Whatever happened to our recruiting contributor Mike Garland? Looks like he hasn’t logged on in two weeks.

At this point should we give the title to someone who seems to actually want to do the job like Juan Grande???

Here is season highlights put together by Zack Gentry

He is so tall, at times it looks like he is playing in a peewee league

http://www.hudl.com/v/60srG
He is a much better ath than ESPN gives him credit for...

Mobility

Possesses premium height and frame development upside -- prototypical size and length. Moves well enough buy a second passing chance within the pocket and is very coordinated given his size. Possesses the size to survive physical abuse he might take as a pocket passer. Has the foot movement to get to the launch point quickly and while he can avoid and sidestep, he certainly isn't a dynamic threat, but will surprise you with agility. Against this level of competition he is a mismatch. Speed is very good for his size.

Mental-Makeup

Reacts well to what he sees and makes a quick decisions in rhythm with routes and with quality timing. He has poise under pressure and the stature to throw with people in his face. Sees the field well. Tough, will not shy away from contact when running the football. Good ball handler. Must continue to improve to keep his eyes up when flushed or navigating the pocket. Does a job of locating targets on second reaction throws out of the pocket.

Accuracy

At times very strong, but can be erratic due to mechanics. When feet are set and he is in rhythm he is consistent and hits the strike zone. Can be flat footed and deliberate in his methods almost as if his back foot is nailed to the ground which limits weight transfer. He can change ball speeds and can also drop the ball in between or over the top of coverage while throwing guys open.

Release/Arm Strength

Displays impressive arm talent. Reminds us of David Cornwell in this regard from the 2014 class. He can be inconsistent in his delivery methods and while he has a low elbow at times, he is so tall that it isn't much of a concern. Can whip the ball a bit, but also does not always control the ball very well with consistent velocity and RPMs. This prospect can get rid of the ball quickly and has a powerful motion. This kid has moments where he will do things with the ball that jump off the screen and get you excited.

Bottom Line

In terms of pure measurables and arm talent, Gentry will be highly sought after in this class. He can be raw at times, but there are lots of tools to mold here. Could even be counted on as a runner when things break down and would be a nice fit in the multiple pro set or spread scheme that changes the launch point and requires athleticism. Excellent prospect.

Underclassman Eval

STRENGTHS: Big, physical looking player; possesses great measurables. A good decision maker. A poised and confident player at the QB position. Has a nice frame capable of supporting additional weight and strength. Flashes good accuracy. Strictly a pocket player that flashes touch, timing and anticipation. ... AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: Not a real explosive player. We question if he has the ability to extend plays at a high level. Set-up needs polish. Winds up at times and can push the ball. Arm strength is adequate, but doesn't show the ability to stretch the field. Lacks a consistent release point. Has a delay in his release. ... BOTTOM LINE: Gentry is a solid QB prospect that appears to be raw in some areas. We like his physical stature. With polish and improvement he could be an efficient player in a protected scheme based on play-action and timing.

I hope this goes well.

Well, if we play great you tell them, look you can be a part of this fantastic defense, if we play like crap then it is look you can start as a freshman. I think we need to offer Malik the opportunity to play wherever he wants, inside, outside, just get him here

The walkon QB is  Jimmy Greenwood  (Houston Kincaid)
Kincaid is a private school with high academics
