Sorry guys, but I'm out. Similar to Bigg Ugly's departure, the content on this site can be found elsewhere and more promptly. There is no value that warrants charging for a sub at this point. The one true, inside sourced feature is now gone. I'm on an annual membership, but would appreciate the mods making an exception to provide a pro-rated refund immediately. The birdie features are dated info and watered down unfortunately and already covered by other sites.
Hate to see ya go. I personally go to sites for the community, and this one is shaping up nicely. The personal attacks are minimal and the folks here are all good people.
I don't feel that information is what holds subscribers, as almost all info, (both insider and team coverage,) is available at all sites within minutes of being posted. I think the mix of posters, the conversation and the banter on topics ranging from the University to the school's sports programs to food to NFL to local info, and everything in between, are what makes a site successful.
HS is, in the grand scheme of things, relatively new. With this newness comes a period of change, trying to identify both a format and provide content that is a nice mix of not only sports but general discussion. So far, there have been some changes, some I like, some that I personally would not have made, but it's not my site.
IMHO, to quit the site entirely because Darrell's piece is no longer here and you feel the info is not what he offered is a bit silly, but to each his own. Darrell and Aaron had numerous discussions about how the site was going to proceed, and how they both viewed not only Crossfire, but the site as a whole. Darrell will still contribute here from time to time, and will continue to post, at least from what I've seen/heard. I'd like to see you stick around, but again, it's your perrogative to leave. If you don't like the pinned/premium content, just email Aaron and ask him to be moved back to a non-premium member. I'm sure he'll accommodate your request. It doesn't mean you have to leave the place.
I also think that if someone is going to leave, just do so. If you feel you need a refund, email Aaron. Otherwise, the whole announcing of one's departure is a bit "look-at-me, I'm making a statement." There are a lot of good members here that may not agree with the boss' decisions, and they discuss this via PM or email with the boss. These same members are still around, active and supportive of the site as a whole. Good luck man, you know where we're at if you change your mind.
