Sorry guys, but I'm out.  Similar to Bigg Ugly's departure, the content on this site can be found elsewhere and more promptly.  There is no value that warrants charging for a sub at this point.  The one true, inside sourced feature is now gone.  I'm on an annual membership, but would appreciate the mods making an exception to provide a pro-rated refund immediately.  The birdie features are dated info and watered down unfortunately and already covered by other sites.

To each his own. No, this board doesn't have a ton of insider info. or at least not yet, but since they just got certified by UT maybe that will change. Maybe not.

I'm month to month and let mine lapse for a time. But i will say some of y'all act like 'crossfire' was 'all the president's men' peeling back all the secrets of Bellmont. I guess i didn't see it as all that.

Hate to see ya go.  I personally go to sites for the community, and this one is shaping up nicely.  The personal attacks are minimal and the folks here are all good people.

I don't feel that information is what holds subscribers, as almost all info, (both insider and team coverage,) is available at all sites within minutes of being posted.  I think the mix of posters, the conversation and the banter on topics ranging from the University to the school's sports programs to food to NFL to local info, and everything in between, are what makes a site successful.

HS is, in the grand scheme of things, relatively new.  With this newness comes a period of change, trying to identify both a format and provide content that is a nice mix of not only sports but general discussion.  So far, there have been some changes, some I like, some that I personally would not have made, but it's not my site.

IMHO, to quit the site entirely because Darrell's piece is no longer here and you feel the info is not what he offered is a bit silly, but to each his own.  Darrell and Aaron had numerous discussions about how the site was going to proceed, and how they both viewed not only Crossfire, but the site as a whole.  Darrell will still contribute here from time to time, and will continue to post, at least from what I've seen/heard.  I'd like to see you stick around, but again, it's your perrogative to leave.  If you don't like the pinned/premium content, just email Aaron and ask him to be moved back to a non-premium member.  I'm sure he'll accommodate your request.  It doesn't mean you have to leave the place.

I also think that if someone is going to leave, just do so.  If you feel you need a refund, email Aaron.  Otherwise, the whole announcing of one's departure is a bit "look-at-me, I'm making a statement."  There are a lot of good members here that may not agree with the boss' decisions, and they discuss this via PM or email with the boss.  These same members are still around, active and supportive of the site as a whole.  Good luck man, you know where we're at if you change your mind.

Agree with both bolded comments. . .

OP lost me right here:

"The one true, inside sourced feature is now gone. "

OP must be new to the Internet thing that's going on. It's all the rage.

Oh, and 1 more thing, Nick Saban isn't coaching in Austin and never was gonna be coaching in Austin. The ones you chose to believe are also the ones you're apparently whining about being gone. Do you see a pattern forming yet?

If I announce I am staying would that also be a look at me statement?

What to do?:-)
i'm announcing i might stay, which i think is a look at me with one eye open and one closed. but i'm not sure.

my life had so much more clarity before the internet.

i shall not accept this silly season rhetoric of yours atx89.

you are already keenly aware that you are a valued part of our HS family, and we shall not want to see you depart our forum.

we can certainly respect our member's stance upon almost anything.  however, since the gridiron season is just a week away..

just what is the urgency of now?  please pal, mulled this over carefully..  HS needs you!

What if I gave you some insider info on Longhorn Baseball??

It's actually not a "look at me"  post, but it is definitely a look at Crossfire post.  It's gone.  Anyone wondering what that means for the author of Crossfire?  Extremely terrible way to run a business and to treat what was a valued contributor/mod on this site.  Ideally many of you will realize what is happening and not support a site run in this manner or that treats employees/partners in this manner.  I'll leave it at that.

Frankly, I just want my $ back as I'd love nothing more than to never post on this site again.

Now, I'm just goin outside to get yet another beer and have a cigarette so I'll be back but make absolutely no mistake, I AM LEAVING!!!!!!

I'll play. how do we know McP didn't say 'I want triple what i'm getting paid' and the owners said no.

Purely a hypothetical. i don't know mcphaul, carrara or anybody in charge of this site. my larger point is i don't know what happened. clearly there was a falling out of some sort. maybe there's blame to be assigned, maybe it's mutual. don't know. do you ?
