Forgive me if my take on some of the posters that object to not having "Crossfire" is somewhat testy sounding. It's not meant to be.
I suspect what the big objection is that they wanted some "inside info" for free. Something they couldn't get at IT, 247 or OB.
But, really - what's the difference between OB and IT anyway? Just different mods trying to deliver the same thing (from the same types of insiders) and trying to scoop each other while doing it. Both sites are heavily infested with long time assholes that typically hijack every thread with cynicism, poster blasting, self serving crap that nobody cares about.
I would hope this site doesn't travel down that road because, IMO, I think this sites membership is far superior to theirs. This community has it's share of dissenters, and that is good. It can't be a forever kum-ba-ya type of site and expect to survive. We need a few heated discussions, but we need it to be by people who respect each other. I see this on here.
The truth is I could be an insider. And let me explain how this works. (I have done this in another thread). All of us have acquaitances in our lives that have some sort of connection in some sort of interesting career. I happened to grow up with a couple of fellows that are big time connected with UT.
They are my friends and partners and I respect their privacy. So, when I have revealed some interesting tidbit they have given me, it is with the understanding that it is okay with them as long as I protect their privacy. This is where the vague innuendo aspect of "inside info" comes from. You would do the same I'm sure. I'm certain that Darrell, Sirhornsalot, Jesus, Eric, Chip, etc. have gone through this. Unfortunately, sometimes, a reporter forgets this, in order to get the scoop, and jumps the gun. I know you have seen this as well.
Everyone should also know that misinformation is delivered as well. This was common in Mack's days. False info had been delivered just to find out who the mole was. I know this for a fact.
My point of all this, is those that attend a site simply for "inside info" - well, I have some Atlantic beach property for sale in Ohio.
The community is what counts and if the site is diligent in expanding its sources for UT info - above board as well as a few "Insider" teasers, then I am all in - its my kind of site.
