What does this mean in the college scheme of things?

It means the networks can breath a sigh of relief and can forge ahead as usual.  And the Big 12 and expansion?  It means it will just be business as usual and expansion has been set on the back burner.

Once again, let's review a few things regarding expansion.

Reasons the Big 12 will not expand

1.  If ESPN/Fox are not willing to renegotiate the current contracts - it ain't happening.

2.  If the teams that are added cannot financially make up the smaller pieces of pie by adding them - it ain't happening.

Motivations to expand

1.  The playoff format will require every conference to have a CCG.

2.  FSU and Notre Dame want to join the conference.

3.  Arkansas and LSU want to join the conference.

It's no more complicated than this.

I'm not really surprised by the Aereo ruling.  Why shouldn't they pay licensing fees, too, for network content?  IMO, all they offered was a high-tech "antenna".

LSU and Arkansas are the impossible dream for the Big12, but that sure would be fun!

I don't really know that Arkansas and LSU are interested in leaving the SEC.
I don't think that is the point.  I think that the point was that if Fla St and Notre Dame or Arkansas and LSU WANTED to come to the Big 12, that the Big 12 would consider it - not that it is a possibility in either scenario.

Of course they aren't. :)    Maybe.

But my point was not that they would leave, but if they wanted to join the Big 12 then that would be a Big 12 consideration for expansion.  No matter how slim the possibility.

But look, Joe, any of these teams would sell out if the price or conditions were right.  The only team I can think of that ran out of pure hatred of another school is yours.  It sure wasn't for the money - that's BS.

And, be honest Joe.  If UT was brought up, as a consideration for expansion to the SEC, do you think is any chance aggy wouldn't drop the black ball on us?  This little fact alone will tell you your school was running from UT and had given up on the fight.

Hell, I don't blame aggy.  They had a century of being dogged by us and a new start was just what they needed. B)

Oh I'm sure we would. But I don't think we would be alone.

Mizzou and Arkansas are two others that I think would do the same.

I want to know if Slive, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and LSU would let them?

:-)
