*****GAME THREAD: No. 11 Texas Longhorns vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs*****

Graceson Littleton, Cam Coleman, Hollywood Smothers, Ryan Wingo, Kade Phillips all did not finish the game per Sarkisian.

"The severity of these guys is unknown."

Arch Manning was 16/20 for 220 yards 3 TDs no int and fans really wanted him benched tonight as Texas won 31-3.
Solid game, but still some head scratching moments. I can't believe they can't find a better C on the OL. Imo, that is the main weak link in the OL. Too much pressure right up the middle. Sometimes Arch can do nothing about it. C must be upgraded for this team to succeed. I don't look at OL grades, but I would bet Robertson is regularly graded low.

After a 31-3 win? lol

Playing without an AA OT and having two OTs playing a different position this week?
I think Siani and Cojoe will be fine. Can't they move Sikorski to C, Seymore to LG. Or maybe even play Hutson finally, possibly at C. I just think Robertson needs to be replaced, but it's probably too late now.

I know it sounds like I hate the kid, but I don't. I just don't think he makes the proper protection calls or recognizes what is coming.

Teams will continue to blitz right up the middle and why wouldn't they since Texas (Flood) hasn't figured out how to combat it. If I was a DC, I would blitz 80-85% of the time.

I agree on the center play. The only reason he's playing is because he knows the scheme and makes the right calls. The problem is what you just mentioned, the blitzes and stunts the defenses throw up the middle. We can't seem to figure out how to combat that. Part of it though is making them pay by hitting hot routs which we only do once or twice a game.

I like the idea of moving Sikorski to center. It's a risk to do that in the middle of the season though because at that point, you have a new C and a new LG. Maybe thats a good thing?

I think there's a combination of issues which makes it all seem bad. And I can't see it getting fixed although it did get fixed for the most part the last half of last season.

Texas should be able to recruit the top OL in the nation. But we're stuck with nice pieces that don't seem to work well together. The inside G-C-G are not making good decisions.
