GAME DAY! Horns vs Clemson – CFP Rd 1

Now that Jaydon Blue is back…we await a healthy Isaiah Bond. Once he’s back, we will have the offense we all dreamed about this season.

I think he will be ready to go against the Sun Devils.

Speed, speed , speed. We have speed everywhere but Blue and Bond are not coverable/catchable.

Good quote

"On Jahdae Barron, Michael Taaffe and others calling him a genius:
"Well, yeah, I'm humbled by that, but without these guys executing at a high level, I look like a schmuck. They get all the credit because they're the ones that are out preparing. We're putting them in position, and they've got to go out and execute and they've done it on a consistent basis this year."
"

I called loudly and often for PK's head in seasons 1 and 2. I have already admitted that I was completely wrong, but I want to say it again. I think PK is one of the top 4 DCs in college football and I am thrilled that no one listened to me and the rest of idiot brigade trying to get PK replaced. I was totally wrong about PK. I'm really glad he is a Longhorn.

One thing I also like about PK is that he doesn't seem like one that is looking for the spotlight. He defers and credits his players on the success the defense is having. Selfishly I am glad we haven't heard reports or rumors of him being a candidate for a head coaching jobs, but his resume definitely warrants it.

Also I think it pays huge dividends that we've had the same system for a few years now. If you're looking to change your OC or DC every year or 2, you're less likely to have success IMO.

I remember we all fell in love with Vance Bedford after his first season. Then he was being interviewed for HC position and the boards lit up with worry. A year later we couldnt wait to get rid of him. The entire thing is hilarious. Dont get me wrong PK has done a great job your only as good as your last game or season. Fans calling to fire him to now hes one of the best in the country and the reverse order is amusing.

Hell I was all in with Herman and what a embarrassment that turned out to be.

Point is players make coaches look good sometimes and sometimes the other way around. Oliver and that QB Herman had at UH made him look good. Malcolm Brown made Vance look good. I know it goes both ways, sometimes the coaches make players look better as well. This defense is full of talent that we havent had in a long time.

I think we have a good number of coaches that reached their desired coaching peak. Some of the younger guys may look to climb the ladder but guys like Flood, PK, Terry Joseph seem content where they are.
