Last week was crazy in that we saw some pretty surprising upsets. Unranked South Carolina took out aggy. The Big 12 is now a mess. Florida, with a dozen or so on the injury list, came surprisingly close to taking down Georgia. Penn State failed to get over the Ohio State hump. Thats now 1-12 Franklin vs Ohio State now for those keeping up.

We again will have college football televised on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.

On to this week!

Clemson plays Virginia Tech this week and Georgia Tech plays Miami. Which one are we picking?
I think you're picking Clemson either way. lol Thanks for catching that. I have corrected it.

I'll throw in a guess that Ga Tech beats Miami.

TIEBREAKER – Texas with another slow slart. Oline and QB problems continue but turnovers do not happen. Thanks to the defense we cause turnovers. Texas 27 Florida 13

Georgia - like 'Bama, picking Georgia means I'll win 11 out of 12 times. This is going to be one to watch. For Ole Miss this is a must win game. I want to pick the home dog but I just can't.

Indiana - The Hoosiers add to Michigan woes. They keep their CFP hopes alive.

Colorado - Coach Prime can keep the CCG and CFP hopes alive but they need this one.

Vanderbilt - I'm taking the home dog on this one. 2 evenly matched teams and I know the Gamecocks play better on the road but Vandy plays inspired at home.

Alabama - Bayou Bengal's CFP hopes geaux bye-bye

Missouri - Missouri stinks but ouSux

BYU - Sitake has his team ready for the Utes who put up a valiant effort.

Penn State - The Nittany Lions have no problem with unranked teams.

Clemson - Tigers take out their frustrations on VTech.

NC State - the Blue Devils have lost 3 of the last 4. I'm taking the home team.

TIEBREAKER – Texas gets back on track. Unless Florida gets some turnovers I don't see them scoring more than 2 TDs especially if they are on their 3rd string QB.

Believe it or not, Napier has not ruled out Lagway for Saturday.

Ole Miss gets Georgia at home though they may have the solftest home field advantage going. But Ole Miss has its back against the wall. They are a dangerous team, especially for Georgia who have had some recent big games. If Ole Miss loses, they are out of the CFP race and out of the SEC title race. Thats a lot to lose.

Michigan has no chance at anything really. Except mucking up someone else's day. If Michigan's defense can play at a high level, it might be enough to get that offense over the hump.

Tech in Lubbock at night, and Tech's back is against the wall in their conference race. Still, Sheduer Sanders may be too much to overcome.

LSU gets Bama at home. If LSU had a defense to speak of, they'd have a chance in this one. I think Bama puts on a show and wins by 3 TDs.

I can't believe Oklahoma is favored over #24 Mizzou, in a game being played in Columbia. ESPN's matchup predictor, however, gives Mizzou a 60% chance of winning.

Texas specific predictions:

Our defense has continued to play at an elite level with points scored against only looking worse due to terrible field position. Against a hobbled Florida offense I expect they will have another incredibly successful outing.
Florida scores 10 or fewer points on offense
Florida gains less than 250 total yards

Offense will look to continue to build on their Vanderbilt performance and I think back to full health, we see Quinn open things up a bit more, aided by his most explosive weapon, Isaiah Bond. I expect we continue to thrive in the horizontal passing game, especially against a hobbled Florida offense who misses a lot of tackles, but I expect we add in a bit more vertical element.
Texas with 8 or more passing plays of >20 yards gained
Less than 5 offensive penalties

Final score: Texas 38- Florida 9
