OU WEEK GAME THREAD

It took awhile for Ewers to get the rust off but once he did, the Horns started rolling. I think some of yall were channeling your inner "Johnny Depp" early in the game. Be that said, if he and Golden would have hit some wide open receivers, Texas would have had 3 additional TDs to show even more how the Horns dominated the sooners this game.

Players of the game:

Defense:
Anthony Hill. Wow, what a game he had! It seemed he was always around the ball. Ended up with 11 total tackles, 7 solo, 3.5 TFL, 2 sacks & 1 forced fumble that led to 7 pts.

Offense:
Tre Wisner. For a young man who started around 5th in the RB rotation, he's making it hard on Sark not to play him. Can run and get the tough yards but can also be explosive. Minus the 1 fumble, he had a great game.

Pivotal moment:
Speaking of Tre's fumble, Silas Bolden's recovery of it was the turning point of the game. First of all he made a key block to free Tre and then hustled down the field to recover the ball in the endzone for a TD. That play should be shown in every locker room by coaches who love hustle.

Honorable mentions:
Wingo, pure stud. Can catch and run. On Tre's TD, he was downfield throwing a key block. Every WR should be shown that clip.
Helm. During the show, it was mentioned he was rated the 9th best TE for the NFL. After this game his stock should rise.
Simmons, true freshman and another pure stud. This kid is going to be a good one.
Gbenda and Taaffe each had sacks during a key moment in the game.
Lefau, this kid doesn't play much but when he does, he makes plays.
The rest of the defense. The offense put them on the spot during the 1st quarter, but they played tough.

Next game is Georgia and I'm looking forward to being at it. If you see me come say hello, I'll be the old guy in burnt orange. 🤘

able to watch the post-game conference…Sark sneaking bites on a corndog when he thinks the camera is off of him!! 🤣🤘🏼

Chill dude. And don't capitalize aggy.

The talking shit about Anthony Hill last week really backfired on OU. lol

QE3 can run the RPO better than Arch as of today. But with Arch the offense has much more explosive plays. Arch is more accurate on 10+ yd passes where QE3 we are generating explosiveness after the catch. Thankfully our WRs can do that.

I was thinking going into the game that having QE3 means less TOs and good short and intermediate game. But QE3 threw an INT early. Missed probably 2 TDs. His footwork is back to 2022. I can’t help to think that Arch could at least match his game today and honestly would’ve done better. Yes Venables is a good defensive coach but QE3 is missing throws and timing is bad.

Nothing Quinn has showed me today would suggest he’s the better QB anymore. He’s a big game QB and has won some big games for us so hopefully he shows up next week.
Go back and watch the ULM game. Arch struggled in the game, ended up with a similar QBR to Quinn against OU.

The backup QB is always the most popular player on the team when there is any amount of struggle by the offense.

Quinn will be just fine and Arch isn't a surefire improvement. Likely he would have more negative moments than Quinn over the remainder of the schedule.

QE3 is our starter but we shouldn’t keep him in if he’s going to jeopardize us winning. He was horrific in the first quarter and more of a game manager the rest of the game. He should perform better than a game manager given his talent level. Hopefully it was just rust. We know he can play better and hopefully that happens next week. We will need him.
