Seems like being in the acc has become a major recruiting disadvantage, particularly when they are fighting to leave the conference without a clear landing spot.

Add that to deciding against using the transfer portal to improve his team, like all of the top schools are doing.

Plus with all the other noise he has created ,it's hard to see how he can regain Clemson's status as a top football school.

After Dabo leaves, they will likely just be another mid tier big12/acc team struggling for relevance.

Wow, not a good look for Florida.

I'm not sure how he can prove that they wouldn't have paid him what was promised, but the last minute cancelation of the contract is a horrible look for a coach and program that are struggling.

Napier's seat was already smoking hot, seems like a dead man walking at this point.

No not a good look. What school/collective in their right mind pursues a deal like this? Especially with an unproven HS senior. I'm glad that Sark said if NIL is your objective, good luck elsewhere.

I still think the ACC is a decent conference. Florida State is on the rise, Clemson is trying to climb again, Mack's Tarheels, Miami is on the rise, etc. Its a conference that still has some depth.

FSU and Clemson trying to leave is perplexing. I don't know where they'd go unless the Big 10 decided to expand to 30 teams, which would be ridiculous. I've read that the SEC really doesn't want to "go there." I think if FSU flirted with the Big 10, it might force the SEC's hand unless they're okay with the Big 10 having a footprint in Florida/South.

Clemson's decline might send them to the Big 12. They'll take anybody anyway lol

florida state is looking strong, and agree that if they can get out of the acc they will be welcomed by the SEC or B1G.

The acc has 2 problems, the first problem is the disparity between them and the big 2 conferences. With the expansion of the SEC and the B1G, and the playoff financials that disparity both financially and perception has increased significantly.

The second problem is that with florida state and Clemson filing lawsuits to leave creates uncertainty and additional costs on the league, further widening the perception and financial gap between the Big 2.

The SEC and B1G already enjoyed a recruiting advantage over the other conferences. With the expanded SEC and B1G that advantage has grown. Any student athlete that wants to play on the biggest stage is going to gravitate to the SEC or B1G, and away from the other conferences.
