I don't normally like to copy/paste posts like this one, but I felt it was important to read as we head into summer.

This is from Nahlin at IT.

Besides the RPM for Dakorien Moore I have a couple other “confidence” changes.

I think Texas is in excellent shape for Lufkin’s Zion Williams. Justin came away feeling that way but after a couple calls we’re on the same page. Williams always seemed to line up for Texas from a personality standpoint. We’ll see, but the weekend accomplished what it needed to.

Here’s an interesting one. You might know I live close to Conroe. The battle for Dorian Brew could be between Texas and USC after his weekend visit. That’s interesting given his father ran track at LSU and his mother did the same at Ohio State. I need to keep investigating this one but I feel confident Texas is in his top two.

This was a big weekend that clarified for the Texas staff that they’re receiving genuine interest from studs.

Obviously they knew they were in a good spot with the recruits they’re in contact with but they might have to slow some kids down.

Some recruits can commit in July, some might need to commit sooner.

It’s going to be interesting to watch. This weekend served as the beginning of the ramp up to commit season.

This is a confident staff.
 
WR Dakorien Moore talks to 247 about his weekend in Austin:

"The highlight was just the whole practice," he said. "It was my first time seeing live reps with the new players they have. They've developed some of the best players in the draft and I really feel like they are going to have a good team this year."

"His (Coach Jackson) receivers already know what to do and what's expected of them," Moore said. "They were out there making plays and he was making minor adjustments every now and then. It really just looked like everything he spoke about in the meeting."

"We (Sark and Moore) discussed a couple of things," Moore said. "We talked about football and how track was going. He talked about how he likes to run the offense and how he likes to use tempo. We talked about how he sees me coming in and making an impact. I really like sitting down and talking with him because he's one of the few coaches that can really talk with me and have a real conversation without stopping or thinking of what to say."

"Coach Gilbert was with me as soon as I got here," Moore said. "He's real close with my mom, and she informed him that we were coming and he met us immediately. He was walking me through practice and showing me where everything is. I really appreciate him and what he's doing."

"It wasn't really talk about teaming up, but we (Moore and other recruits) were talking about what we like, what we see and what differentiates one school from another," he said. "We were just breaking things down a little bit."

Update on DT Zion Williams of Lufkin (247):

"It was really good," Williams said. "It was mainly to get to know Coach (Kenny) Baker a lot better. Our little meeting we had, it really confirmed he's somebody I'd love to play for. The Longhorn organization, the coaching staff that I've gotten to meet, great people, great dudes."

"Everybody I've asked said Coach Baker is transitioning well," Williams said. "He's willing to help mold them, help them grow and help them get used to his coaching style compared to Coach Bo. Nobody had anything bad to say about him, which is good. But nobody had anything bad to say about Coach Bo at the same time. It was really good both ends. Great people down here. Just got to enjoy myself and eat a lot of food."

"Getting to see them dudes get coached by Coach Baker, it was pretty cool," Williams said. "Especially when they got into teams. In our teams at school we don't get to hit each other. Seeing them be super competitive and hit each other like that and not get mad about it really did show me how well connected those guys were. I know a few people if they got hit like that on the football field at practice some helmets would be flying towards people. It showed me they're willing and dedicated to make each other better as a whole as a unit."

"How big they are," he said. "I know I'm pretty big, but all them guys are pretty huge. In the meeting especially they were all engaged. (Baker) made sure that everybody got to say their own input. Even if he thought it was wrong, he made sure they got their own opinion out there. I really liked that."

"Just getting to see Coach Baker," Williams said. "I know when he got hired, the first thing he did was come down to see me apparently. I feel honored to hear that because he's a former NFL coach. Like, that was really cool. Getting to come back down here to just genuinely hang out with him and meet with him it was super cool. He's well-mannered, talks to me like a young adult, not a kid. I think he would really want me to be better as a person if that makes sense. He genuinely talks to me like I'm a young adult, becoming a grown man. He walks me through not the process of how he'd make me a better person, but how he can better my life in the long run. I really like that about him."

OTF had an update on Moore this morning that he's not likely to be at the spring game in two weeks due to a regional track meet.

However, Hamilton has Texas as a slight leader after this weekend and expects him to officially visit Texas on June 21st.
 
Per OTF, WR offer Jaime Ffrench of Jacksonville, FL would like to have his commitment taken care of before his senior season.

The interesting part of that is Texas will be his last official visit of the summer, after he sees Miami and Tennessee.

Ohio State is the perceived leader right now, but he hasn't set anything up yet in what is already a crowded month of June for him.

"I definitely loved the vibe," Ffrench told OTF following his visit. "The people in the building (were great). I am going to have to continue to come out."

"I loved it. Really just getting to see Coach Jackson in person and see how he is as a person, that was really my main focus on getting out here."

"The people, and definitely Coach Sark," Ffrench answered when asked about his biggest takeaway from the trip. "His offense and just sitting down with him. He is a family type of person and I love that for real. He is always going to make sure you feel the love and I like that."

"It (development of WRs) definitely matters, for sure. Coach Jackson knows what he is doing."

Moore's mother told IT they will head to Austin if they can leave that track meet early.

OTF is expecting RB Jordon Davison to set his Texas official visit for June 21st.

They mentioned Coach Choice is doing an excellent job and hitting all the same marks with his family that he did with RB Jerrick Gibson last cycle.

If Ohio State has anything on Texas right now, it's a wide open RB depth chart for the 2025 season with Henderson and Judkins going to the NFL.

One interesting tidbit on Dakorien Moore, he couldn't visit Texas football during Texas Relays but his mom made her way over to the facility and met with the coaches. That speaks volumes to me.

Quotes from LB Elijah Barnes of Dallas Skyline after his weekend visit to Texas (247):

"I just liked the energy, the high intensity here during practice," Barnes told Horns247. "I just loved the love that the coaches showed me and the players as well. Talking with (David) Gbenda and Ant Hill. It's just great talking to those guys that's going through the process now that have already been through the process before. Just sitting down talking with them was great."

"Can't play slow," Barnes said. "That's all I gotta stay. You gotta play fast and you gotta know what you're doing."
