Is there an explanation as to what went wrong with the Stoops hire?

Elko is a good coach, but me being a Texas fan I would rather see him get it than a Jeff Traylor or a Gary Patterson. His personality I’m sure is better than Jimbo’s but I’m not for sure the coaching or recruiting is getting upgraded.

Saban and his flesh peddler agent Jimmy Sexton played Texas like a bunch of chumps to get what they really wanted from Alabama....as for the other subject I dont know enough info to comment on it

How serious Saben was is hard to know, BUT my only point is that just because we are Texas doesn't guarantee that we will always get our first choice of coaches, like the post I was responding to stated.

Word is the board was told another coach would get the offer. I also understand the big cigars and fans were not happy with him as the choice.

Agreed. I was/am worried that they would work their way back around to Traylor.

They added he told the team earlier today he has an official offer, but will take 24 hours to think it over.
