2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

Question for the board.Who is the real QB coach? If Milwee why does Sark get the credit. If Sark then why waste money and a space on staff.
I think most head coaches have a position they can focus on coaching up but still have a position coach to manage the day to day, meetings and practice stuff. Also, most OCs have a close coaching relationship with the QBs anyways. In Sark and Milwee you have a Head Coach, Offensive coordinator and QB coach. I don't think it's a waste of space.

IT saying Texas is gaining momentum for S Xavier Filsaime with Florida's class looking shaky.

They expect he and his father to visit campus in the coming weeks, and continue positioning themselves well for the flip.

Better yet, why compare anybody to one of the greatest to ever play the game at the Collegiate level? Not fair to anybody involved.

Recruiting rankings, player stats, Heisman competition, Playoff spots, Head coach records, on and on all based to comparative stats, wins losses, blah blah

So was it fair to compare VY to other great QBs before him? Of course. Ricky to Earl? Yes. Same holds true here. Its what fans do.

Filsaime come on down
Does this force an early coaching move at Florida? They have a brutal schedule next season, do they hope they can win enough big games next season to show improvement. Seems unlikely. Once coaches lose the ability to keep recruits committed, that is usually a bad sign for their job security.

Carefull with that word numbers.😀
I do think we could be in a bit of a numbers crunch at DB in this class. If we get Kobe Black and Xavier Filsiame we would be at 3 CBs and 2 safeties in the class. We likely bring in at least 1 transfer who can play safety. Can we afford to bring in 6 DBs, 4 CBs?

Hard to say no to a player with this level of talent.

I hope Ewers proves me wrong but sorry I just dont see it. I dont believe he has it in him to take over a game completely like VY did. The best game I have seen from Ewers was Bama and that was huge but he has had some really crappy performances as well. Hopefully he comes back and and puts me in my place but I doubt it.
I love VY and he is the GOAT at Texas, but I was also at the game here in Fayetteville, Ark., in 2004 when he was not great and the Horns would have lost to Arkansas again (they lost at home the previous year when Chance Mock was the QB) had Derek Johnson knocked the ball out of Matt Jones' hands when Arkansas was easily in range to kick a game-winning field goal. Ewers is not VY, but VY was not the all-world player he later became when he first started. It's doubtful that Texas will ever have a dual-threat QB to compare to VY and making a comparison is foolish.
