I've waited for this game for an entire year. I truly felt we should have won last year, even with a team that just wasn't put together well. But this year my confidence is swelling due to Texas now beginning a rise and OU now beginning a tailspin.
I knew the minute I heard Brent Venables got the OU job that they would/will end up firing him. IMO, he's just not cut out for an HC role. Venables' specialty is supposed to be defense and TCU just hung 55 on them.
Two losses with a team that is still arguably the most talented team in the conference is not a good look and Texas will just make it worse.
Welcome back Mr. Quinn Ewers. Pick right up where you left off.
Texas should win this one going away. OU's QB went down. Theo Weiss was injured. An OL went down. It was a bad week to be OU. They will be weakened in what is already really a rebuilding year for them though OU doesn't believe they're rebuilding. Well, they probably do now.
But more importantly, they have to be re-thinking their hiring of Venables right about now. What are they going to do? Fire him in his first year?
Texas has a break-out performance this week with the return of Ewers.
Texas 54
OU 21
