2023 Recruiting Board/Thread

It suppose this is a down year for in State OT talent.
He might be good but from the eye test he seems “fluffy”.
He might be baby faced (if that's what you meant by fluffy) but I counted 16 pancakes on his junior highlight reel. Plus he has good feet.

I wonder if Texas' great OL haul this last cycle is deterring kids from coming?

2022, the last one we signed.

Out of 28 signees (recruits, not transfers), 8 of those were from out of state. So only 20 kids from Texas were given scholarships.

How can you possibly lock down the state with only 20 scholarships dispersed in-state?

Go ahead, look for yourself

Do not have to look infro. is right beside my recliner. 8 out of 28 does not sound like so much OOS talent to me.

Then I would always take a Texas kid who had equal or less talent. Guess I am Homer.

IT hearing chatter that OU made a big move with WR Jaquaize Pettaway of Houston Langham Creek last weekend to the point he may cancel his official visit to Texas.

As of now, he's still scheduled to be in Austin on June 17th with QB Arch Manning.

They had a source tell them the WR foursome of Cook, Niblett, Pettaway and Wilson love Coach Marion, but doesn't think all will sign with Texas.

On3 saying five-star TE Duce Robinson of Phoenix, AZ is looking into a Texas visit this summer.

He mentioned he's been in constant communication with Coach Banks and that relationship is going strong, plus he made the trip to Phoenix twice in the spring to visit his high school.

He's also a big fan of QB Arch Manning and is keeping a close eye on his decision.

“How could you not be watching that,” Robinson said. “It is hard not to keep up with a player like that. Then, we have a relationship too, so it would be cool to go to school with a player like that."

“To go to college with someone you know, someone you have a relationship with, and a quarterback like Arch, that would be throwing me the ball would be great. I am interested in where he goes like everyone else.”

Not sure if you phrased that right. Hope you wouldn’t take lesser talent because they’re from Texas.

Thats more than 1/4 of your class, but you're free to believe whatever you like.

When Texas kids are flocking to Ohio State, Bama, Aggy, USC, etc., you'd probably go after OOS of equal talent rather than settle for what everybody else left you in-state. . . or maybe you wouldn't.

On lesser talent would take a high to middle four Texan over a five star OOS kid. Then if youcannot get  Texan noreason not to go out of state.

Should have said slightly lesser talent.. Then ratings are somebody guess. Most coaches do thier own ratting.

Its been proved you can win bigwith mostly Texans.

If you lock down the state players would not be going else where

I do not blame for wanting to play for winners

This if Texas ever starts winning they might stay home.

Or Go like the sheep herders buy them.

Frankly in my opinion Texas four stars are as good as some states five stars

Five stars are limited by number no matter the talent.

We're going in circles here. How will you start winning with the 3-stars from Texas that you're wanting to compete with 5-stars from our state?

Expecting something from that is kinda your own fault.

So who would you have taken instead of Ricky Williams?

Would you have stuck it out for Zach Evans over Bijan?
