2023 Recruiting Board/Thread

DL Markis Deal of Garland Naaman Forest told 247 that his plan right now is to use four official visits, and then commit before his senior season starts.

He'll save one visit for the season in case anything happens with his commitment.

He mentioned he doesn't want to use an official on Texas because he's been to Austin a bunch, but hopes to get back on campus this summer.

To the Longhorn fans asking if Deandre Moore committing to Louisville is about money, yes it is. UofL has put together one of the best NIL packages together for these current players and future players. That’s why they are recruiting California, Texas and Florida so we’ll right now. This is a metropolitan city without any pro teams so UofL is treated as the pro franchise here as far as NIL and star treatment. In Texas you have a lot of schools to compete against not to mention A&M who is a big NIL school itself. You are Texas so you will be fine. Just think this is a little payback for taking Charlie Strong when he was building a powerhouse program at Louisville.

CTJ's predicted class

QB (1): Manning

RB (2): Wisner, Baxter - Georgia and Bama are both in on 2 other 5 star TBs, so Baxter isn't that farfetched if Texas lands Manning and can fend off UF.

WR (3): Niblett, Pettaway, Parker - WR is a position that this staff isn't going to take many chances on at the HS level. They're looking for sure things, speed, and maybe one OKG every other year. The portal is going to feed the WR room at Texas, apparently.

TE (2): Randle, Shannon

OT (1): No clue who this will be. Call in the lottery ticket on Zalance Heard, I guess. Recruiting an OT after taking the guys they just signed is going to be rough.

OG/C (3): Reed, Cajoe, Chatman

Edge (2): Gullette, Shelby

DL (3): Spencer, Mitchell (I can dream), Hicks (again, a man can dream)

LB (3): Burrell, no clue otherwise

CB (2): Muhammed, Matthews

S (2): Johnson, Harrison-Pilot

That's 24 signees. I won't be surprised by any number between 20 and 35. It all depends on Manning and how the season goes. I think Texas and other blue bloods will embrace the premise of signing as many guys as they like and letting the portal sort out the 85 man total. Not quite a return to the DKR days of signing guys just to keep from having to play against them, but not far off from it, either.

No Owens ( no suprise ) no Cook or Hale,  o Toravino these are a suprise.
I'm not going to guess who commits (because I'm always wrong), but I'm thinking they take this many at each position.

RB - 2

WR - 3

TE - 2

OL - 4

QB - 1

DL - 4

LB - 3

CB - 4

S - 1

The rest will probably portal in.

I think the Torvano ship has sailed. I wish it weren't so but everything says he's moved on from Texas.

You know I like Hale, so that one stung.

CTJ knows more about some positions (recruiting) than others. Just something I've noticed. But it was interesting to toss around.

@Baron, we need names man. Names. lol
