According to TFB, Ewers' TCU visit went well and is over. They didn't do enough to pull within his top two though. It's a two-team race between Texas and Sand Aggy.

Texas has piled some serious money on the table via NIL. TFB says we have the edge, but not by much.

Hearing up to $3 million in NIL deals.  Crazy.

Here are some delicious morsels from a Tech board. Enjoy! ?

I don't take stuff like this too seriously, but Barron has hinted a few times that S Andrew Mukuba could be transferring back home.

uhhh....I am beginning to think we need to pass. If we have to pay a guy 3 mill just to show up (an 18 year old guy by the way....) I dont think we could ever get him to play. How are you gonna coach a kid that has $3mill in the bank...(picture ...no coach....I dont think I am gonna run laps today...)

Then there is the idea that he could say...coach....if you dont get off my ass I am gonna have you run....and have the power to do it...

No thanks.

IT believes Texas will get to go in-home with QB Quinn Ewers one more time before a final decision.

Tech will be getting that chance too, according to their 247 site.

Something to watch out for, and it's just my opinion, but if Ewers decides on Friday or earlier then I think the staff will try to get him to Austin this weekend for their recruiting event.

He only has that power if he plays football. If he plays that card he won’t play. The NIL money doesn’t come from UT; it’s independent of the school. If Ewers plays that card and doesn’t work the BMDs who are funding the NILs won’t care if he plays and Thompson or Card will be playing.  Mahoney has made umpteen million dollars and still plays hard.

I hate this whole NIL crap.  It is ruining college football.   It won’t take long and there will be only a handful of elite college football teams.  Really want to watch the same 8 to 12 schools play for a NC over and over again? It’s going to be Alabama fatigue on steroids.

I agree to an extent but there are more than 8-12 that will be able to pay to compete. There are probably 20-25.  The rest are wannabes and have been for a long time. Since 2000 11 teams have won national championships. There are probably another 8-10 that could win with the NIL rules. But those are the same teams that can win now. It will be more so in the future because if you make a name for yourself at one of the other schools you can use your transfer to sign as a free agent and increase your income.

I really hope this is not true.  At the moment, it seems way too much and I would rather see it spread around or saved for next year.  I also hope Texas is smart enough to not pay it all up-front.  We need a jump start to get back, but our fund isn't half a billion so one guy getting $3 seems out of whack.  It is not like he started at OSU.

I think the point was to be higher than everybody else. Many other schools are working on similar deals and making a splash with one of those deals would be going above Texas.
