2022 Recruiting Board/Thread

Any buzz from the recruiting world after the game? Wondering if Coach Stark opened any eyes.

Saw that Justice Finkley is announcing tomorrow.  His top 3 are Alabama, Texas and Colorado. Logical assumption is being a Alabama kid that he would choose Bama.  However it really does sound like this kid is truly looking for education and football. His parents are Dr's and it sounds like he wants to pursue that field as well.  Texas fills both of those needs and his family was high on them. Colorado has a very good medical school and was his father's alma mater.  So, I don't think it's that cut and dry with this one.

With all that said, if he somehow picks Texas then this will go down as one of the best DL classes i've ever seen by Texas. However, is there really room?

Anthony Jones -  DE (I think)
Zac Swanson - DE
J'mond Tapp - DE
Kristopher Ross - DL
Aaron Bryant - DL
Jaray Bledsoe - DL.
Justice Finkley - DL
Derrick Brown - DE/OLB (probably BUCK)

That would be 8 along the front 4.  Don't think I've ever seen that many taken before.  Gotta think there will be some transfers in the off-season regardless of Finkley.  M. Warren comes to mind right away and maybe Goran-Welch. I've also seen some chatter that Fr Jordan Thomas may not be with the team, but I haven't seen anything to confirm this so this could be a stupid rumor. Speaking of transfers (but not on the DL) i see Ayodele and Tillman at LB probably transfer out after this year. Both are buried and don't seem to fit the PK defense.

One can only hope it's Finkley.

Tapp, Bledsoe, Ross and Finkley is a great class by itself.  Add in kids with high ceilings like Bryant, Swanson, Jones and Brown and you're in elite status.

IT reporting that TE Jaleel Skinner of IMG Academy is down to FSU and Texas after his official visit to Tallahassee.

One source is saying he'll choose FSU on October 9th due to a close connection to someone on that staff.

IT mentioned the staff is looking at re-offering DB Kendrick Law from Shreveport, LA.

They believe he'd be a longshot for Texas at this time.

Nothing super important that I've read so far outside of the usual quotes after a win, but Guilbeau told OrangeBloods he wants to decide soon.

It seems he wanted a shot to join A&M's class, but he mentioned TCU and Texas are recruiting him the hardest.

IT said Texas would definitely take him back.

247 posted that OL Josh Conerly, Jr. from Seattle, WA is an offer that is trending away from Texas currently.

He had talked about making an official visit this fall, but he's now focusing on West Coast schools and Michigan.

That Okst game is shaping up to be a huge one for recruiting.  Heard Larry Turner-Gooden will be there and I would not be surprised to see Murphy come in.  Also read that Arch Manning and his family may be in for that game.  Get Devon Campbell, Kam Dewberry, Evan Stewart and Brennan Thompson in and it's a block party baby.

I noticed we got a CB for Justice Finkley out of the state of Alabama committing to Texas.  It was from Sam Webb a Michigan insider. He commits on September 9th.

We have a select number of spaces available and probably twice as many recruits we're pursuing. Something has to give.
